  1. great point. I ordered my Louisville poster directly through J Lackey, those were not individually numbered, and I don't think these from the Residency are either. J Lackey did sign the posters that I ordered from him, which I thought was great. He did a great job of keeping them pristine condition with shipping too.

Look closer. The Louisville posters are the only ones I've had time to sign and number so far. :lol

I am getting a set of twenty of these posters to sell on my site, but 5 sets are already spoken for by friends at the show last night, and tonight a few more may go. Tom, PM me if you want me to save you a set.

Also, the merch guy pointed out to me I put "2007" on tonight's poster. I may go in early with some white paint and a tiny brush. :blush

  2. During the rocking songs. the whole floor was jumping up and down, especially as the night went on. It was a beautiful thing to watch from the balcony, Miss Y's ponytail flipping around like a tiny tornado. But during Patient With Me, there was a huge roar of loud conversation wafting out from the bar areas. Jeff wisely chose to ignore it. It's America. What're ya gonna do.

Such a great show. SO much energy and joy. The band was very tight! Bodes really well for the tour. Impossible Germany has sneaked up and become my favorite song to hear in concert these days. We'll see if the next few nights will change that. MChris, we missed you (that was me that called during Why Would You....

Great to see all you good VC peoples! Let's have some more fun today (before the nasty ice storm hits tonight, check your local station).

  3. please tell me you're joking. :o :thumbdown

man oh man. they've started the cycle! now everyones gonna think "oh crap, if THEYRE out there, i better get on it!" and were going to have a ridiculous amount of people freezing their asses off for 10 hours before the freaking show

That's okay. They'll be too sick to go tomorrow night.

  4. Ya, know..you are probably right and perhaps the location of the loft should be better know. The fact is lots of people DO know where the loft is (and unlike Abbey Road it is not really all that much to see), so those NOT in the know only need to be patient, talk to the right people at the right time and chances are you will find out where it is. Frankly it ain't much to see. Another clue.....there is space for rent in the building...find a building with a for rent sign on it and there you go.

    LouieB

I'd love to rent the space for an art studio, then I could bang on the ceiling with a broom handle when those darn kids start up with the racket!

  5. Thank God Wilco lost. It's getting hard enough to get tickets as it is. Obviously, it's not totally based on merit. Foo Fighters first album is one of my all time faves, but that generic rehash crap they're spewing these days doesn't really cut it for me. Very happy for Herbie Hancock. Vince Gill is a playa, who knew? Kanye is way too full of himself, and is never going to be satisfied, but at least he usually channels it into some pretty good music, and he appeared to laugh at Gill's joke and at himself, so there's that.

Amy Winehouse's legs scared me too. But I liked her performance. Interesting, bloated show.

  6. 35 years ago today:

Roscoe Maples Pavillion, Stanford U., Palo Alto CA 2/9/73

Excellent show. First ever versions of China Doll, Eyes, HC Sunshine, Loose Lucy, TLEO, Row Jimmy, and Wave That Flag (US Blues)

    Before "China Cat":

Wavy Gravy: Okay, how's that? Hi, yah. I am told to make this announcement...short, and not political. I'll make it short, but political is wierd. Like, taking a shit is a political act. Smoking it is a more political act, but world politics and a rainbow on a pole is what we're about. My name is Wavy Gravy. I'm with the Hog Farm. And like many, many people all over the planet we were alarmed and horrified at this incredible disaster called Bach Mai.

Now, Managua is not political, right? And Bangladesh is not political. But Bach Mai is another kind of disaster that happened over Christmas with a bunch of B-52s and we leveled the largest hospital, teaching hospital, four times bigger than the one at Stanford, in Southeast Asia. And what we want to do is send them back another hospital. Tell 'em about it Asa.

Asa: We've got these baskets around, right? People will be moving around. If you want to, help us find another way of doing it. A bunch of guys here at Cloumbae Hall will get together and do more stuff about Bach Mai. And wear our buttons, and polish our rainbows. And now, The Rainbow Makers! Here they are!

1st Eyes ever, and just about as good as it ever got! :cheers

  7. Well I just received some freaking fantastic news from Music Today:

"According to the tracking history on www.ups.com, your tickets may be lost in transit."

I stayed calm all this week as everyone else got their tickets, e-mailed them a couple of times, and now I have to wait until Monday to figure this out ... so sad.

Anybody have this happened before? I'll call Monday, and there will be a five day window to figure it out, but I can't help being worried :ohwell

They forgot to send mine for a show this fall, so I had to call them and put me on Will Call. It'll work out. :dancing
