  1. The band was so tight and hard-hitting at the Residency (and had tons of cajones), SNL just didn't do them justice. Glenn's drums sounded like toys on Hate It Here. But they seemed to have a great time. And Jeff was rockin that suit! :lol

  2. One of the first conversations my wife and I ever had when we first met was about going to see this movie in Winnipeg. It would have been our first date, but she ended having to work. I still have the little poster she gave me advertising it in the theater.

    Very cool.

I watched it once and threw it in the ocean.

I really needed a good laugh today and that was it.

It didn't play in theaters here, but preordered from PlexiFilm, dug it, and still do. Made my dad watch it the other day because he still thinks they're just some local band that I do the occasional poster for.

  3. I talked to these guys

    http://www.rusticraftcompany.com/

they quoted me $33 a poster with wood and non-nonglare glass

Holy shit, that's a good deal! Especially with the non-glare.

the artist suggested all 5 be in seperate frames...
Only if framed in poster frames, cause I don't think they make one big enough to hold all 5 (I could be wrong).

I made them all with the same background color so they could be framed together, and it would look like they have a blue matte. I'm curious to see how these turn out. And I'm definitely gonna check into your Rustic guys.

  4. The posters are about 12 x 33, and the image size is about 10 3/8 x 30 3/4. I am horrible at framing stuff. I made block prints for 20 years before I started painting, and I was always very pissed that the framing cost more than the print, so I was happy when I switched to painting, cause I use canvases that are fastened in the back, so I paint the sides, eliminating the need for framing.

The signed copies of the two Tweedy posters I did hang in my kids' music room (formerly known as the dining room), and are just stuck in cheap poster frames that I cut down with a utilitly blade to fit the exact dimension of the poster. If you do this, be very careful, as it's a somewhat hard job, and the knife can slip. Keep your thumbs and knees out of the way, and take your time. And use a metal straight-edge. There may have been better ways to frame these, but money is tight, and they look okay.

I think this might be a good way to go with the Residency posters, if you're framing multiple posters, as they are already big, and this way, you could have them on the wall separately, but still close enough together to recognize the guitar. If I think of a better way, I will definitely post it. Having much flu and no caffeine, this is what I can come up with today.

If anyone gets theirs framed and can show pics, please do. :cheers
