Has anyone noticed that while Youk's is having an insane year, his walks are way down? Last year he walked 10% of the time, but now he's only walking about 7.7% of the time. But he's also cut down on the strikeouts. Any of you Sox fans see a change in his approach, or is he just swinging really well and not bothering with walks so much? I only ask because he can't hit .350 all year, and eventually he's going to fall back down to earth and probably finish the season at .300 and if his walk rate isn't there he's much less valuable. Basically, he's going to need to hit .300 in order to be as va

The Cubs already did that one yesterday.

No you don't. Sometimes Wang is really hard to get to and other times you can take advantage of him early and often.

But I don't really care if you like him more than Jeter. But don't blame him for the Yankees losing every year anymore than you blame Jeter, or Damon, or any of the other 24 guys on the Yankees roster who are worse than Arod. I understand not liking him as a person, because he is, inarguably, an asshole. He apparently cheats on his wife, he tried to elbow the 5 foot tall 19 year old shortstop of the Red Sox, etc. But my problem is when people blame him for not winning a World Series, or for not being a "true Yankee" and all that crap that he gets. If you want to hate him because he's probab

It's not even close, either.

Here's one I heard that may or may not be true. The easternmost tip of Tennessee is closer to Canada than it is to Memphis.

That's kind of my point on the whole Arod thing. And I'm not thirsty, but thank you.

What I love is that you can show people mountain's of evidence as to why Arod isn't "not clutch" or why Jeter isn't "clutch" or any number of things, and it doesn't matter, because people refuse to believe anything but what they see, or more accurately, what they think they see. If Arod strikes out 2 times in a nationally televised game with runners in scoring position, he's going to be labelled a choker, no matter how many times he gets an extra base hit in the same situation during any other game. Baseball is not a game where you can determine a player's worth based on a handful of atbats.

A good example of why single playoff series don't mean anything once you've accrued a significant amount of at bats: Reggie Jackson in LSC (Career): .227 BA .298 OBP .380 SLG Reggie Jackson in WS (Career): .357 BA .457 OBP .755 SLG Reggie Jackson in PS (Career): .278 BA .358 OBP .527 SLG Reggie Jackson (Career): .262 BA .356 OBP .490 SLG The guy who is pretty much universally regarded as the best post season performer in history is marginally better in the post season than in the regular season, and this is only becuase he had one ridiculous world series. Take that out, and

I talked to Jeff about it. We're cool.

I'm still sort of waiting for all those articles where Jeff said he hates commercialism and all. because it sounded like words being put in his mouth, otherwise.

That should (And will) say never won a world series. Gwynn went to 2 (lost to the tigers in 83?), and biggio and Bagwell both made it. And I knew that. I'm dumb.

Wade had a couple of amazing games last year, specifically game 3 against the Mavs. Just saying he looked like crap the first two games, and he's had 2 really good games and one amazing game. That was an amazing game, but I still think we need to wait before we crown him the new Jordan (even though that happened about 5 years ago). I'll say he was in a zone last night, and the Pistons should've just started fouling him instead of giving him 2 points ever time down the floor.

Great players who have never won a World Series (and thusly are shitty because they never made it): Ken Griffey Jr. Sammy Sosa Frank Thomas Edgar Martinez Jeff Bagwell Craig Biggio Tony Gwynn Hall of Famers to never play in a World Series(Ditto on the shittiness): Ernie Banks Billy Williams Rod Carew Luke Appling Ryne Sandberg Harry Heilman George Sisler Al Lopez Rick Ferrell George Kell Nap Lajoie Miller Huggins Bobby Wallace Ralph Kiner (Just a few of the) Shitty players who won tons of rings: Frankie Crosetti 8 Hank Bauer 7 Johnny Murphy 7 Vic Raschi 7 Joe Collins 6 Jerry Coleman 6 R

After Jordan scored a playoff record 63 points against the Boston Celtics in 1986, Celtics star Larry Bird described him (Jordan) as "God disguised as Michael Jordan."
-
You could find people who run as fast as home to run for him. And everytime there's an infield fly, they'd have to yell "Got it" at the fielders.

The 95 Mariners had one good starter. Everyone else sucked. The 96 Mariners had 2 good starters who pitched a total of 130 innings. They had an ERA+ of 95 as a team. The 97 Mariners had 3 good starters, but everyone else on that staff was so bad that they still had an ERA+ of 94. The 1998 Mariners had the same problem as the 97 Mariners, except that Randy Johnson wasn't even good in 98. ERA+ of 94. The 99 Mariners had 4 above average starters and still ended up with a team ERA+ of 96. The 2000 Mariners had the best pitching in Arod's years there, with an ERA+ of 101. They made it to the ALCS

Harry kills Buckbeak in a coke fueled rampage in the middle of book 6. Then Hagrid, Hermoine, Ron and Cho have an intervention. Shit, I'm ruining the books.
-
I remember that commercial. When he put every single song of his into a commercial and then stopped selling cd's or doing shows. What a prick.
-
He dies in book 5. The last 2 books are just Harry and his friends having fun and stuff.

I'd have to say "gettin' booty" is probably the one category that Jeter can beat Arod in now that Arod's married and all. Not that's he's stopped trying, apparently.
-
Try making a mix with a couple of 126, a couple of 192, and a couple of 256 songs. You'll be able to notice the difference immediately, if not sooner.
-
Ok, I can see this isn't worth it. I'm not nearly bored enough to get into this right now...

In his defense, he was really good in 1996. And that was about as good as Arod's worst season. One guy I always liked from those Yankees teams was Knoblauch, and he was actually a pretty good player.
