  1. You mean abortion?

That's kind of discounting a lot of what they did around WWI in violating the Comstock laws and disseminating information about contraception. If you wanted to go for a base attack, why not just go after Margret Sanger's eugenics positions? At least that would be more fair to the scope of the group. Abortion is a small part of Planned Parenthood. At one time, building a master race was a larger part.

  2. i remember this christian radio station in columbus that always played "hip" christian rock (i.e. - godrock that blatantly ripped off specific secular bands). it was a game for us to "christianize" the secular victim band name. so the song would come on that sounded like the mighty mighty bosstones, which then became the holy holy crosstones, etc. that made bad christian rock fun. this sort of thing is just kinda scary. it looks more in place in iran than the US.

  3. my limited knowledge base says that the new macs with the intel chip actually allows you load windows software on them so you don't need the emulators anymore. i don't even think you need to shut down and do the duel boot thing. I'm sure someone smarter can tell us the truth though.

you are correct. go to apple.com and look for boot camp for more details.

  4. so our population isn't larger than it was in the late teens and early 20s?

our population is MUCH larger, which is why immigrants are even less needed for the jobs that aren't here anymore. labor unions (which i tend to support) were quite adamantly racist and xenophobic with their protectionism. now that constituency of the democratic party's value has been moved to the social conservative's platform for security reasons. it's nearly the same thing.

  5. I think there has to be a better, easier (probably cheaper), and LEGAL way for decent and hard-working people and families to come here.

you're right, there is and there should be a way implemented. however, as long as people are profitable it is not going to change. mexicans and central americans who slip in illegally are employed at starvation wages (often, not always) and have no legal recourse. unethical employers take advantage of these people in many ways (see the fictionalized film BREAD AND ROSES if you haven't). big business loves illegal labor. the depressed wages in their home countries is just as beneficial to american corporations. if you want an interesting read, check out what coca-cola's labor record looks like in honduras.

  6. i saw a mexican-american immigration activist in LA saying that he didn't cross the border, the border crossed his great grandfather. i thought that was a clever argument.

this issue kinda comes down to penicillin and steel. when the us was manufacturing and growing, we needed people. after WWI and medical advances, our population exploded and we needed far less immigrants. additionally, the xenophobic hysteria of the late teens and early 20s really put up fences to immigration at a time when immigration became less necessary. we've never seen the need to lift these barriers, especially for the poor, tired, huddled masses yearning to breathe free. especially since we no longer have the heavy manufacturing base that required so much labor.

  7. A game that is marketed and sold to the casual fan is a different kind of game than the type of game that a die-hard fan may want to see. And it's why I prefer college to NBA.

well said. i don't like basketball at all, but i do love minor league baseball and hockey for exactly the reason posted my mattz.

  8. imho, this is microsoft throwing down the gauntlet to you windows users and begging you to do something about it. i guess when you have something in the ballpark of 90% of personal computers running your OS, you can be ballsy and ask people to pay a lot of cash for a piece of shit.
