    A Cherry Ghost
  1. An extraordinary performance made better by the great energy from the crowd. The most singing from the crowd I’ve heard at any Wilco show. You could see the guys were enjoying it, especially Pat, but lots of smiles all around. Epic version of Art of Almost along with several other epic versions at the top of the set following it through Misunderstood. Someone to Lose was a bit of a breather and lost some of the crowd but War on War brought everyone back in. Via Chicago was particularly brilliant and the acoustics in The Fox certainly helped. California Stars another highlight with Margar
  2. Saw some pictures and videos online. Looked like a beautiful evening. Thank you for another great recap. I was hoping you were going to be at this show.
  3. Another stellar summary. Thank you. Pity that Nels didn't let it rip. Saw some pictures and it looked like a beautiful day and a positive atmosphere. Few of my friends were there and they loved it.
  4. "But subsequently made a joke I didn't catch (something about playing to 12 or 13 of them at a time? Did anyone catch that?)" He was referring to the few folks that strip up and showed they were being moved by the music they were creating. When Glenn got on his stool, he mothed twice "Get up. Get up". We ran into him after the show walking to the hotel. He thanked us for standing. Said they were disappointed more didn't. Said it was a festival crowd so oh well. He made it very clear that they want to see everyone up and moving. Even said they were feeding off our energy and appreciated se
  5. I was the one standing. I was trying to be respectful of the others that all seemed to want to sit down, but there were times during the performance where I just thought it would have been ridiculous to stay seated and I was compelled to get up and move. It was an absolutely brilliant performance, possibly the finest musical performance I have ever seen live.
  6. Anyone have any idea of how their setlist might change for this show? I know on the extended stays at some of the venues they mix it up night top night, but I have no idea what they might do for this show.
  7. This sit-stand thing is awful. I respect people's desire to sit, but please respect the fact that some of us are so moved by the music that we can't sit and truly connect with it. Seems to me that others tend to stand later and therefore connect later in the show than others. I'm going to request that Jeff gets crowd to stand rather than requesting a song for Big Ears show.
  8. Glad to see Jeff addressing the standup / sit down issue. Almost seems to me right now that the shows will be mostly sitting down until IG. Also, I saw some social media video posts of the show last night and it looked incredible.
  9. It is sad to see the sit/stand issue plaguing these live shows. I go see about 50 non Wilco shows a year and very very few shows are sitting. The audience just stands, even during slower tempo songs. Some in the balconies, especially the first few rows may sit, but in general, it is all standing. What's worse is that I regularly see the audience not stand and applaud after the song is finished. In Chicago, last week, I even saw people sitting after the first set had ended. Very disrespectful in my opinion, especially after a great performance.
  10. How many shows have you seen in total and when did you start going?
  11. Bbbop: How do you get to so many Wilco shows? Where do you live? I'm so impressed! Just incredible. And, are you going to Big Ears?
  12. Thought Tweedy was the happiest I can remember. Really seemed to be enjoying the experience as did the rest of the band. Bbop summary is excellent as usual, and the energy between the band was palpable. Thought the crowd was bit flat though. All in all just an another brilliant performance. Locator and spiders the highlight for me.
