  1. tumbleweed, madman across the water, and honky chateau are flawless... my favs off of tumbleweed has always been amoreena and where to now st peter. razor face, rotten peaches, all the nasties off of madman are life long favs as well. mellow, i think i'm gonna kill myself, plus mona lisa and mad hatters rank the highest in my opinion off of Honky Chateau. 11/17/70 and Rare Masters are both incredible releases as well. always been a fan of the captain fantastic release and have loved the title track... blue moves is on my ipod as well. there are some great tunes hidden in there. i have heard every record (even the brutal Victim of Love) and never cared for much after Blue Moves (alas a few tracks off of too low for zero), but Songs from the West Coast is terrific.

  2. love the tiles being played by glenn at the beginning.

between kickin' television, panthers, 'original' hummingbird, unlikely japan, etc. from the soma sessions... the high heat ranks the highest in my opinion.

  3. Saw the Black Crowes last night for the first time in years... and wow what a show. Chris' pipes are as strong as ever, the mix was great, and the band was super tight.

'Seeing Things' was my personal highlight... 'Appaloosa' and 'I Ain't Hiding' sounded great off the new record. Plus, closing with 'Everybody Knows This is Nowhere' sent the band out on a high note.

  4. i remember hearing this live before the ep had come out and loved it from day 1... i saw them 3 times in like 4 days that summer... Louisville, Nashville, and then Atlanta. I believe the Louisville show is where i first heard it. i love the track and never get tired of it live or when it comes up on the ipod. i favor the KT version as far as recordings go, but enjoy it the most when everyone around me gets jacked up when they crank that song up live. it is mind blowing live... more so than the other concert constant IMTWLY.

above four are all perfect in my opinion...

    SBS

    Wta

    AM

there are 4 songs (you and i, country disappeared, i'll fight, and everlasting) that i skip every time on Wta... only 2 on SBS (Shake it off, Leave Me)

  6. i would imagine that after spending so much time together for 6+ years Jeff had possibly met someone from Jay's family. Those guys spent hours upon hours together and shared so much with one another... regardless of the split Jeff has got to be moved following Jay's death.

in reference to the show... i am surprised not see more w(ta) songs. no 'one wing' or 'sunny feeling'. we know they know these songs.

  8. Unreal show... was concerned about the venue but it was awesome.

Rare tracks: Hotel Arizona :dancing , Candyfloss, and Can't Stand It

Misunderstood opened and kicked everyone in the face.

ATWYS, Ashes, IG, HD, Shot, Spiders and Hoodoo Voodoo (with shirtless roadie cowbell nonetheless) were all incredible

Others played: Company, Kamera, Face, Jesus, Hummingbird, HMD

Encore 1: Late Greats, CF, Hate it Here, Walken, ITMWLY (everyone leaped off amps, etc.)

    Encore 2: RE&B --> IGY, HV, and I'm A Wheel

This was my 20th Wilco show... i had knee surgery 5 days ago and went without my crutches... i'll be deaf, mute, and unable to walk tomorrow --- but it was wonderful!

These guys have so much together on stage and played so well.... the new album is going to blow our minds.

I now just my f'n pre-ordered DVD to show up!

    Good night.

  9. i just want the dvd damnit! the only store in birmingham that is celebrating 'record store day' won't have any for sale. i skipped the free viewing of this week to go and see 'wicked' and though i was blown away with that performance... i need my fix. i hope it shows up tomorrow!
