  1. FTR, Boggs says it was 67 beers, not 64 beers, on his blog:

The best part of this is discovering Wade Boggs's blog. If this is legitimately his blog then I am flabbergasted - it's genius. Just read these posts, they are amazing.

"what is with all of the spiky-type hair and the wild colors? when i was a boy we crazied it up by shifting our neckties so that they were slightly askew. hair-do? more like a hair-do-not! AM I RIGHT, INTERNET FRIENDS?"

Is this really him? Is Wade Boggs a lost comedic genius of our time?

  2. Bejar - oh yeah, and without question Streethawk: a Seduction. The others are also good, although I never warmed to Yer Blues.

Heard, (but have not heard), his new one is very good.

Yeah, Trouble in Dreams is an awesome album. Bejar at his peak, try and find it.

  3. it's a combination of the starkness of the music & lyrics mixed with the raw emotion of Justin's newly found falsetto that just hits me pretty deep honestly.

I actually like when he sings without the falsetto better. But both are good.

  4. I got around to listening to the album a few weeks ago. IMHO the first two tracks are the weakest (15 Steps and Bodysnatchers), and are still both very decent songs. The rest of the tracks are just amazing. The only thing that takes In Rainbows down a notch or two from masterpiece status, for me, is the overall feel - or maybe just the sequencing; it doesn't quite feel 'whole'. Great tunes but they add up to ____? It could very well be that's what they were going for...rather than satisfied, the listener comes away feeling mildly disturbed. :)

Still I love this record...it's been in heavy rotation on my zune.

But 15 Step and Bodysnatchers get it off to such a rockin' start! 15 Step is funky, slinky song and Bodysnatchers sees Thom at his manic best. I think it's the perfect 1-2 opening punch.

  5. My concern with that question is more based on his theology degree. I'm guessing that his degree is based more on study of the bible, rather than comparative study with Mormonism, but I'd still want a presidential candidate with a degree in theology to have a relatively nuanced understanding of other religions. The "I think it's a religion... I don't know that much about it" part is as disturbing to me as the Jesus/Satan/brothers thing.

Funny thing is - Huckabee doesn't actually have a degree in theology.

  6. Huckabee scares me. If we elect that man...I don't know what I'd do. Maybe look at graduate schools in other countries so I could get out from under Minister Huckabee's holy rule for a while.

    Hooray for Obama though!

    edit:

In addition to the that Top 10 Huckabee moments, I think we need to add when he claimed a "holocaust of abortions" was responsible for the rise in immigrant labor in the US. Right.

  7. The full length is sooo good. I don't know why they left off Boston, another fantastic song.

Reminds me of the Voxtrot EPs in how catchy and melodic these songs are. Great collection of well-honed pop songs. I just wish Voxtrot could have put out an full length this catchy.
