  1. I think it's a fine choice. So they're looking to the future, making an investment, counting on him living up to his potential on the world stage, even throwing down the gauntlet and challenging him to do better. The Cairo speech was a big part of this no doubt. There's my optimistic, naive take. Y'all are crazy cynical.
  2. Testing that theory - nope. This story: http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/somerville/2009/10/source_timberlake_likely_comin.html Copied on that page, pasted into a reply window here:
  3. I like that first covers album they did (did they do another?) - the performance linked here though is pretty yawny. Thread needed a boost.
  4. Hmm. Distractions from Love. I guess.
  5. That is odd. The HBO synopsis mentions Earle (not by name) in that ep too: http://www.hbo.com/thewire/episode/season1/episode09.shtml I don't want to assume you do or do not know what Earle looks like in the show, but:
  6. Huh, I woulda pegged you for a Being There guy.
  7. That Italian talk show host is a great character.
  8. Situations are unique but heartache that comes from it is universal. When I was listening to Blood On The Tracks on a loop at one point long ago and far away, I wasn't thinking "Man, Bob's been through some shit." I was thinking "Man, I wrote this album."
  9. Who said anything about moving on?
  10. ^^I can see what you mean^^ but sometimes a man's gotta wallow in it.
  11. Please let me know the address of this party if you follow through.
  12. I guess I don't. Sky Blue Sky, but then I feel bad that I didn't say Summerteeth. Then I feel bad I didn't say Being There. Then I feel bad I didn't say Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Then I feel bad I didn't say A Ghost Is Born. Then I feel bad I didn't say Sky Blue Sky.
  13. Keg party. Adam Sandler comedy tape. -shudder-
  14. Adam Sandler was someone I found terribly unfunny both on SNL and with his followup comedy albums and hit movies (he was everywhere and it wasn't just 13 year-olds quoting him, Speed Racer, it was college kids too). I wanted to punch his face. Now I like him. I think Barry Egan changed that.
