  1. I heard Public Enemy's "Welcome To The Terrordome" the other day and was reminded how much of a stink these lines caused: "Crucifixion ain't no fiction/So-called chosen, frozen/Apology made to whoever pleases/Still they got me like Jesus." More info here What are some other lyrics that infamously made the news?
  2. Watching it at home I almost plotzed - I can't imagine what it would be like in person.
  3. Well, they do have armadillos in their trousers - the girls run screaming.
  4. Fuck this shit, lemme buy you a drink.
  5. Maybe - but the idea that Jeff finally feels like he's in a band called Wilco makes me nauseous.
  6. See, and I think the above could come under "pretentious" in the dictionary.
  7. I really hope it isn't titled 'Wilco' - if an album is self-titled and it's not your debut album, it's pretentious.
  8. I too am not feeling this one like I do the others. Too samey-sounding, I think.
  9. Will someone remind me I'm not supposed to be enjoying these Red Sox -Yankees games because they're too long/too much offense or whatever? Thanks, because I completely forgot not to enjoy the games yesterday and Friday.
  10. Cry Baby Cry is easily in my top 50 Beatles songs.
  11. I see. That's cool, open mind and all. re: Pussyhorse - probably their best album imo
  12. I don't see how this could be a bad time. Detroit Breakdown! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzBeJFkSNAg
  13. Seriously, why in the hell are you listening to 9-10 minutes of music that doesn't "appeal" to you or "hold any interest at all"?
  14. Great effing tune - and that footage of the announcement and the Lips' shaking hands in victory is just awesomely surreal.
  15. There's a Jeff Tweedy associated with Sean 'Puffy' Combs - maybe it was him. I'm thankful they gave a camera to that guy seated near Ben Stiller, though.
  16. I agree about Apollo 18 - forgot that was the first full band album. John Henry was the first big letdown for me.
  17. Plus - have you seen David Byrne recently? It's all a rich tapestry of funny.
  18. I used to love TMBG, but I stopped once they started playing with a full band, which was about 15 years ago. Their creativity went down the tubes after that.
  19. Planning is always smart, especially for the future.
  20. (L-R) Sandra Bernhard, David Byrne's father, and Chrissie Hynde enjoy the proceedings at this year's R&R Hall of Fame ceremony.
  21. What are we gonna do about these hipsters!?!
