The like, newest new election thread

It's a stupid expression that reaches sublime levels of stupidity when Gov Palin uses it to describe herself. http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/blog/g/0c03...7d-f2f9a7f56b68 -
I particularly enjoyed the crowd shot of the crestfallen guy in the Yankees hat and the shirt reading "BEAT BOSTON."

I did not know about this.

Fuckin A. Finally someone here who remembers him. PM on the way. -
How in Jesus hell do Anaheim of Los Angeles fans even see the game with all those damned 'thundersticks' everywhere?

Doesn't this bailout change Obama/Biden's whole "no tax increases for anyone making under $250,000 a year" bit? -
Huh, I thought it was 'anyone can be killed.'

I'll bet it's I Kissed a Girl...so let's see...hmm...I Brissed a Mohel? -
Yes - that was a stellar episode. And when John Amos answered that door, I was just floored - what a great show.

Not bad. I think playing up Obama as the straight man is the way to go, though. I think why the existing skits with him haven't been any good (and why Armisen's impression is dull) - is they're putting him in obvious situations like debates. Put him back in high school or something. "Look, I will uhh - do, my homework. There's no question of that. But mom, it's Soul Train. Soul. Train."

Indeed - there's a huge difference between piling on (which has occurred here in the past and will again I'm sure) and actually criticizing with substance. -
Well, it is a comedy.

Anything Phil Hartman touched turned to gold. I loved his Stockdale impression - when Carvey's Perot is driving his out to the wilderness to set him free.

How about Obama ordering at a fast-food counter. Shot of OBAMA from cashier's view. OBAMA (looking up and to the left): Look, I will have...(pointing) the fish, uhh, fingers. And (looking up and to the right, scanning menu fruitlessly) uhh, that is, what I'll have. CASHIER: Anything to drink? OBAMA: (pointing to CASHIER) Look, no. I envision this a 40 minute sketch.

I had a dream about this re-release last night. I was listening to the LP in a mansion with my friend Robert (RIP). It was cool. I hadn't dreamed of him in a while. So thanks for this thread. -
As long as this thread's resurrected: Is it bad I kept picturing Keenan Thompson as Gwen Ifill last night?

True - ABC did some of that following the debate, and it was embarrassing for everyone. -

Directly following the debate, Pat Buchanan (on Fox News) said Palin wiped the floor with Biden and that she is "the most attractive" of all four candidates. Eww. -

So What'Cha Want from this thread? Really. -
Has anyone caught the Warner Brothers story that's been airing on PBS? One critic (I forget who) called 'What's Opera Doc?" the greatest accomplishment in Warner Brothers history, and I think I agree - sure, it's a short, but hell - nothing in animation rivals it. (I still like that TS2 is #1 on this list though)
