John : “I think Wilco will try to make a record remotely over this winter, and see how that works. We did try it with the song "Tell Your Friends" and it came out quite good.”

  4. RE: Half Asleep - I’ve been listening to a few of the songs and I noticed that the first line in “When You Need Me I’ll Be There” is “half asleep all your dreams come alive”. You can check out Kate Vassos’ video. Todd Leopold has the song listed as “No One But You”.

I’ll leave my list unchanged just in case.

  5. Great list, knotgreen! We like lists, so I had a running list on my iPhone of all of the unreleased songs that he’s done on The Tweedy Show. I reorganized it to fit the album sequencing. I placed episode numbers and a few notes here and there. And songs with quotes around them means that they are untitled. You might find them with a different title under YouTube user Todd Leopold. (Don’t mind the spacing. It looked too compressed without it.)

    Love Is The King

    Opaline (Ep 64/Ep 75)

    A Robin Or A Wren (Ep 3/Ep 39/Ep 83)

    Gwendolyn (Ep 60/Ep 61/Ep 79)

Bad Day Lately (Ep 40/Ep 62)

    Even I Can See f/k/a By Her Side (Ep 42/Ep 61/Ep 83)

    Natural Disaster (Ep 10/Ep 84/Ep 88)

    Save It For Me (Ep 1 recording/Ep 13/Ep 15/Ep 50/Ep 56/Ep 63/Ep 76/Ep 91)

    Guess Again (Ep 6/Ep37/Ep 64/Ep 96)

Troubled f/k/a I’m Troubled (But The Trouble’s Still Me) (Ep 42)

    Half Asleep

Notes: Troubled was played during a solo Jeff Tweedy show in Spokane, Washington on September 26, 2018. Paul (bbop) gave it the title I’m Troubled (But The Trouble’s Still Me). According to Jeff on episode 42 of The Tweedy Show, it “cannibalizes” lyrics from An Empty Corner & Oprhan.

    Wilco single May 2020

Wilco unreleased outtake from Ode To Joy

    Half Life (Ep 30)

Jeff Tweedy unreleased poem for someone to add music to

    Grandma’s A Cyborg Now [poem] (Ep 4)

    Still unreleased

    I’d Rather Be Alone (Ep 2/Ep 66)

    “Baby, You’re So Miserable”(Ep 5)

“Cold Water Falling” (Ep 46 electric/Ep 48 acoustic)

“Inside A Heart, Outside A Heart” (Ep 57)

“Please Be Wrong About Me” (Ep 81)

“When You Need Me I’ll Be There” (Ep 81)

Ha! When I posted this, I didn’t see Freedy’s post. We must’ve been posting at the same time.

  6. I love that mask!

I haven’t posted here for so long, but I’m so happy to see the play-by-play synopsis ... thanks to u2roolz and everyone!  Love it!

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, it does seem like a long time ago.

Well, lots of info (sorta) revealed tonight. I guess you can check the other thread for the album title. Lol

  8. I guess there is some talk about a All That You Can't Leave Behind anniversary release.

Such a fucking disappointment when you compare it to other bands. Plus, this looks like an extremely lazy effort. The Boston show, which I attended all 4 on that tour, has been available on DVD. They filmed nights 1 & 2. Nights 3 & 4 were amazing. Go figure! This time we get the audio for the show with no new bonus tracks because there’s about 4 songs that were omitted for the release way back in 2001/02.

The rumors were that it would feature one of the NYC post 9/11 shows at MSG or something from the 3rd Leg of the Elevation Tour in the fall of 2001.

Even the outtakes were released several years ago on a U2 official fanclub release. Someone posted a massive wall of text on a U2 fan site of all of the working titles and outtakes taken from some old magazine picture that featured it. Nothing from the list made it to the release! No one needs U2 remixes, but they’re always quick to release them for some reason.

The 5 disc track list is as follows taken from a U2 site:

    1 Beautiful Day

2 Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of

  14. Is it the assumption that this is what Jeff was finishing up that he mentioned recently or should we still be expecting a new Tweedy album sometime early next year?

I would expect one because there's a song Whisper being released tomorrow on that benefit cd. The personnel shows Jeff, Spencer & Jim Elkington. Of course, it's entirely possible that that song was just recorded for that benefit cd.

There might be a show tomorrow. Or there may be a brief hot tub show. Sorry for any confusion regarding this week's shows. It sounded like Jeff wanted to do one show while away on vacation, when Susie asked him last week.

  16. It's a cross between Locator and Can't Stand It. Half nervy post punk, half Smashmouthesque radio hit.

The title definitely grabbed my attention. Hmm. If I were to assume, I’d assume that the arrangement might be similar to Locator and not the lyrics. Or Jeff is a prophet.

What’s the over/under on Viking Dan being a screen name for someone on here?

Anyone else get a I Am Trying To Break Your Heart/Jesus, Etc. vibe from the Slow Rhodes version of Summer Teeth?

  17. It took a bit of time to absorb what we’re getting for demos & outtakes, so I made a list to help me sort it out. I placed Tried & True under Summer Teeth, since the lyrics are nearly identical.

As are remixes of A Shot In The Arm & Nothing’severgonnastandinmyway (Again). And then there’s the demos that have been circulating for years. Lots of tracks for this beloved record is a great thing.

I can’t wait to hear 23 seconds of silence remastered!

  18. When Jeff mentioned that the show was from Boulder, I immediately ran to Setlist FM to look at the setlist and 3 songs were unknown. The news today finally made someone update the setlist at that site. Lol! The 3 unknown songs were: Candyfloss, Nothing’severgonnastandinmyway(Again) and Kingpin. Kinda strange.

    This is an amazing set!
