Hello Everyone,

Well, I waited around and spoke to John after tonight's amazing show. They came on around 11pm and played until 1230.

Anyways I talked to John about the record and told him I thought it was amazing and thanks for the stream. Asked when Wilco would be stopping by. He said Wilco will be in Boston in June and I said "huh"......he than told me that June was going to get Northeast shows.

Now during The Singleman Affair's set Pat Sansone told me that a Wilco tour wouldn't be until the fall. I would like to go with John's answer for obvious reasons.

Anyways I will put up a more definitive review of The Autumn Defense later today.

Here's a question does anyone have a link to the picture/article from Q late last year with the "rumoured" song titles for Sky Blue Sky. I'm curious if there's anything that is listed that didn't make it besides the obvious live tracks mentioned here. Same goes with Wilcoworld on the news page before it changed to the "probable" sequence. They listed possible songs on the new record. I am positive there is one song that is not on the record or been played live that was mentioned.

The REAL exciting quesiton is how long until Wilco starts whipping out the songs that didn't make Sky Blue Blue in a live setting. I expect it to be pretty soon. Judging by the above, I'd say about one new track every so often.

Wilco played May 4, 2005 - May 7, 2005 at The Vic in Chicago. It is firmly believed that none of these shows were recorded by fan tapers. Obviously due to this being recorded by Wilco for Kicking Television.

Ever since I saw it open the first Chicago November show, I believe Shake It Off would kick ass as the opener.

Well, I'll have to check my iTunes playlist for the new Wilco songs. The order I put them in sounds good.

Not too worried about the song order. I'm just curious if we get all 18 songs. Or maybe 2 albums. One spring. One fall. This is just my thinking. It is not a rumour.

He said it was a very emotional show and somber. A different vibe than what he's seen before.

This marks my 10th Wilco show in 3 years and I've seen Jeff Tweedy solo once.

I have also been lucky enough to meet with Jeff and the band after the show(s) on 4 different occasions.

I am looking forward to seeing them so close to Chicago.

I am missing this amazing song and I don't ever remember this show being seeded back in the day (aka a year ago).

Also, does anyone know of a recording of the 7/1/04 Paris show with Why Would You Want To Live ?

PPS I am kind of aware of this being done to a certain extent on here. I just never downloaded it, if it does exist.

Damn. I completely forgot this show started at 630pm.....because I have Will Call tix.

Anyways, I'm picking up friends for this show and not leaving my area until 6. Roughly 1.5 - 2 hour drive. Hopefully by 8 Wilco won't be on yet. But it'll cut it close.

Do you really think Wilco will come out between 745-800 to start the show? It will be light out and I don't know I think it's a tough call. I know with it being outdoors there has to be a sound curfew for a Sunday night. And if the M's do come on promptly at 630-715, they won't want to get the crowd anxious. I don't know I am just super nervous because I almost missed the beginning of the Wang Center show from 2004 when they came out really early at like 830.

Hello Everyone,

It took me a long time to post something. Must be a little bit of post concert depression and just keeping this special moment between "me and my friends".

Anyways, overall a much better show than Portland. 7 songs in Portland were not done in RI and vice versa.

Setlist kept me on my toes.......literally. I had to stand all night and loved every second of it. At this point I don't see any people in the "sit down" seats ever standing up and showing interest in a Wilco show. I understand that people like to sit and absorb the show. To each his/her own. The 3 gentlemen who came out and did the horns on the 2 songs (no need to list them by now) were amazing. Highlight of the show. Everyone needs to see I'm The Man Who Loves You and Monday with horns.

So after the show I waited outside for the band again with my 2 friends. It was my friend Vin's second time seeing them and the first was at a gym (Brandeis 04) and they also did In A Future Age. I thought for a second in the opening note that it was actually the album version of Sunken Treasure.

Well, the band came out pretty quick....quicker than in Portland. Probably because there were no backstage folks. Glenn came out first while I moved the car closer to the tour bus. I missed him but had a great little conversation with him the night before. My friends talked to him for a bit. Oh btw there were about 15 of us waiting (more than half of which were very young looking college students). Mikael came out and remembered me from Portland and said "sorry you didn't get Wishful Thinking." I told him it was ok. I didn't request the song we just mentioned the song title when he said "it'd be Wishful Thinking for the new album to be out this year."

Pat came out and chatted with us for a bit. All I can remember is some older gentleman with an A.M. cd waiting for it to be autographed. Not sure if Pat or anyone else NOT on the album autographed it, but my friends and I joked that the guy must've stopped buying Wilco cds after A.M.

Finally Jeff and Nels came out. Jeff bee lined it to the middle of us and pointed at this flat screen tv that you could see from someone's dorm. He said in a holy shit voice " Wow. Look at that guy's head. It's so huge. And Look at that woman's head. It's so big. Isn't that creepy." Than he proceeded to go around and shake our hands. It was priceless. We knew we were in for a treat. It was the most talkative I have seen Jeff after a show. He than took pics with the young looking college kids. Than he came back to me and my friends.

Pretty quickly. I have to say and my friends agree, Jeff Tweedy wanted to hang out and chat with my friends. Maybe it's because we're all in our late 20s and had stuff to ask and wanted to small talk. Most of the college kids asked for a signature, photograph and said thank you.

Anyways I asked about the song title Walken. If it is about Christopher Walken. Jeff said "no." I asked than is it supposed to be spelled Walken? He said " Setlists aren't accurate as far as new song titles go. By the time the new record comes out .... it may have a different title or spelling." My friend than asked about how he titles songs or knows at which point to give the song a name. My friend is a singer-songwriter with a band. Jeff mentioned something about Apostolic being a song title he just came up with. This question seemed to stump Jeff at first. Meanwhile my other friend Vin is having a chat with some woman and Nels Cline about horns and Mike Watt and LA.

So we ask Jeff about summer tour plans. Asked if they were coming back to Boston. He said not that they know of yet. I asked about Canada and he said "yes, we are playing Canada this summer." To which we told him we'll have to come and see you guys in Montreal. Jeff than asked us if we were seeing them in NJ or any of the 3 shows remaining. We said no and he seemed upset. It was a weird moment.

When Jeff was asked of the new album he summed it up by saying "this album is pretty straighforward. none of the stuff that we did on the last few records will be showing up on here." NICE.

Than my singer-songwriter friend mentioned how he was asked by Ryan Adams (after meeting him in Vt, hanging out with him and me on a tour bus in Hampton Beach, NH, meeting him in upstate NY) to open for him at the Starland Ballroom last June. Look at www.answeringbell.com and look at the show for June 4. It lists as opener All The Tired Horses. So Jeff said that that was pretty cool. And was about to say something but this older woman interrupted them by telling Jeff about her son's band. Which was ok, but it would've been interesting to see what else Jeff had to say about my friend's band. But her talk made Jeff say something interesting. Apparently on every jaunt around the country, the band takes a day on a long road trip to listen to the cd's that up and coming bands give them. I hope I didn't just open the floodgates, but there is a slim chance he was just saying that to make this woman feel better. I don't know.

OH OH..........one thing one of the college students asked was "is Kicking Television the DVD ever gonna see the light of day?" Jeff said "no. But pretty soon we're gonna be shooting more shows for stuff like that." YAY.

One moment that got a tumbleweed reaction from Jeff was this.............after all the college kids got pics.......he was coming toward my friends and I ............i told him "I need a camera." To which he had no expression but continued to talk to us.

So finally after some time Jeff said "bye and see you soon" It seemed like a half hour with the band. Not bad for 18 bucks.

So there you have it almost all that I can remember. Sorry for the length but had to get it out of my head and onto here.

Basically these 4 college aged kids (on the back left side of the venue) kept screaming out questions about the song titles. Like "We don't know what a blue fairy is?" Stuff along those lines. It was pretty loud and obnoxious.

I almost forgot about mentioning Gustafer Yellowgold.

He was a cross between Mr. Rogers on every drug in the book (lyric, idea and presentation wise) and Jon Cryer in Pretty In Pink (voice and mannerism wise).

I give the guy credit though as some hecklers in the audience were given a very loud scream of

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" by a closet Gustafer Yellowgold fan. It was like across the aisle. But yea he kept on singing his Peter, Paul, and Mary tunes.

Just got back in from tonight's Fucking Brilliant Amazing show. I think we have another convert on our hands. I speak of my friend who has never seen them live and I made him all of the cds about 2 months ago to warm up. We were 10th row Mid Section on the floor and the crowd was pretty into it from where we were. Except it looked like the 1st 5 rows in the middle sat until the encore. Maybe they figured they were close enough. Anyways. Amazing setlist and overall top performance. I agree they topped June's Boston show from last year. Wait a sec......that show had I'm Always In Love, Misunderstood, Sunken Treasure and Outtasite (Outta Mind). Close call. Glad I got to hear At My Window Sad And Lonely, Foget The Flowers, Walken, Red Eyed & Blue - I Got You, and Is That The Thanks I Get?

Official Setlist Notes - I Got You was not on the setlist. Assuming they all know that these two songs go together like peanut butter and jelly. And Is That The Thanks I Get? was not on the printed setlist.

Post Show Shenanigans.................Well, about 15 of us waited for the band to come out until 12am. Jeff didn't come out. Earlier Mikael Jorgenson told me Jeff wasn't feeling well and was already on the tour bus sleeping. And I asked is that why he didn't say much tonight. He replied "well that's usually the sign that the show is going really well." As far as he knows the Brooklyn show in July is just an internet rumour. Also, he mentioned that Wilco will do a Canadian tour from "west to east in July." Lucky Canucks. He expects the new album this time next year. He said it's "wishful thinking" for it to come out before. He even mentioned that he thought that Walken "started out too quickly tonight". Than I thanked him and he went to grab a bite to eat.

Finally Pat, John, Glenn and Nels came out and greeted the fans.

I got Nels' autograph and he was extremely nice (as was Mikael). Told him his guitar playing is fucking awesome and thanks for being in the band.

Than I spoke to Glenn and told him I loved his drumming and asked if the Brown show would be short due to 2 opening bands. He said "that's a college show." And I replied "Yea, I know. I just graduated college. I'm not that old". At which point he seemed embarassed, but I quickly told him I'm only kidding.

He said as far as he knows "We're playing a full set." Got his autograph and once again he was extremely nice and down to earth as everyone else. Didn't get to ask about the new record, but I did get to ask Pat.

Pat said the new record is "coming along." Told him I loved how The Good Part sounds and thanked him for letting folks tape the shows for fans so we can know the new songs. I asked him and Mikael (earlier) if Wilco is coming to Boston in July and they both don't think so. Got his autograph as John walked up the street with a small group or maybe it was his new wife.

Well, this is all from memory 4 hours ago. So everything is accurate except stuff like when the new album will come out. Which could be earlier than Mikael thinks. Wishful Thinking indeed.

I have met Jeff twice before (portland 04/northampton 05). He is gracious and amazing. 2 autographs and a nice pic of him and me. I wish my friend could've met him but I understand that he needs rest for the rest of the week. But I hope he feels better and damn he doesn't show it on stage.

PS I think I was sitting in front of John's In-Laws. The same couple came out from backstage with John. Someone mentioned that they got John Stiratt's In-Laws autographs. The "mother-in-law" came over to me when I was talking to Glenn and said to me "I know this guy enjoyed the show." To which I replied "Sorry if I blocked your view ma'am." So if that is indeed John's In-Laws than they got 11th row.

If anyone cares and made it down this far, I know I like to know these things about fans. This was my 7th Wilco show. I've seen Tweedy solo once.
