    Hello Everyone,

Well, I'm sure most people are familiar with seating plans for ball parks. I'm about half sure. I've only seen The Police at Fenway Park.

Those 2 photos are of Dropkick Murphys/Bosstones at LeLacheur Park last summer. If people want to know what it looks like. These photos really

don't do it justice. The bridge is much nicer when you're there.

From the above photos it definitely looks like the baseball diamond is off limits. Everyone looks like sardines. I doubt the Wilco show will be this jammed in.

But the 2nd photo shows people few and far between in the stands. I'm guessing with the $36 price(lowell sun) being the only one mentioned all tix may be GA.

I'm not sure how many people are familiar with Lowell, but I can definitely give you some places/bars/parking ideas.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

    Wow!!!!!!! :dancing :worship

I don't know what to say. That's like 5 fucking minutes from where I live. Whoa!....this is going to take awhile to sink in for me.

I secretly wished for them to come to Lowell, but I never guessed it'd be at the Minor League ballpark.

I was thinking if anything they'd play here

    http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/page.php?page=root/home.htm

But Lowell is a beautiful city, and it fits in with what's been said about the album photo shoot etc. It really cleaned itself up.

The ballpark is really nice on the river. Not so sure how they'll handle the parking. Oh well worry about that one later.

    Great news!

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

PS This and the Ashes DVD coming in today and than the Webcast tonight. Life is good!

    Edit:

Wilco plays LeLacheur Park this summer

    Updated: 04/15/2009 06:39:11 PM EDT

Alt-country rockers Wilco swing into Lowell's minor-league baseball stadium July 11. The Chicago band that's played the Orpheum, Bank of America Pavilion, and Tanglewood adds LeLacheur Park to its list of conquests this summer. "They are looking to do something different and fun and exciting. Wilco never wants to do things non-traditionally," said Alex Crothers, of Higher Ground Music, the Burlington, Vt., concert promoter that booked the show.

Tickets, $36, go on sale Saturday at 11 a.m. and can be purchased at www.wilcoworld.net or (888) 512-SHOW.

  3. Hey Everyone,

Well, I feel quite lucky after hearing these "horror" stories. I live in Southern NH very close to the Northeastern MA border and the closest store to me is Bull Moose in Salem, NH. I went there last Thursday night and the guy looked up the dvd for me and said that they'd be getting 18 copies in. So I pre-ordered one for myself.

This included no money transaction. I just put down my name and will hopefully have one set aside.

    http://www.bullmoose.com/rel/v2_home.php?d...amp;storenr=258

So for anyone in this area you have that specific store and there's another store in Portsmouth, NH.

Here is the store number for the Salem, NH location 1-603-898-6254.

I'm not really sure how one would be able to coordinate picking up copies for the sole purpose of getting the "bonus download of entire show"?

If anyone really wants a copy and would like to get the dvd in the mail PM me. Keep in mind there's supposedly 17 left.

I guess if it works out the way we think it will I can PM those who buy it the "link". Which I hope will work without a DVD.

Other than that I don't know what else. Well, the store is easily accessible off of 213 which connects 495 and 93.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  4. Hey,

I was going to start a similar thread about how I'm somehow more excited for the 10 shows coming up this month than the record. Sounds crazy. But you know what I mean, I'm sure we'll be hearing new stuff. If you go to a concert or if you download a show. Once again thanks to the amazing people who tape shows. We'll get some real gems over the next 2 weeks.

As far as predictions, I think these shows will be Sky Blue Sky light. I don't really know what songs will be a mainstay in these shows coming up. After the residency, they have played pretty close to everything. I have a feeling we'll be hearing more stuff from Summerteeth, if I were to pick an album. Anyone think they'll do a full on version of Fake Plastic Trees?

And as far as the new songs go, you almost don't want to hear Bull Black Nova or anything else that is "new". It'd take the fun out of getting a new record in late June. There's only 4 songs I haven't heard out of the supposed 11. But of course I wouldn't be the least bit upset if they broke it out and I got to hear it say this time next week. Yeah, it sounds like i'm walking around in contradiction city. But I feel so are a few people on here who feel similarly.

I'll take a stab at a phony setlist I'd like to see in a show this month.

    Wilco The Song

    ELT

    A Shot In The Arm

    Muzzle Of Bees

    Kamera

    That's Not The Issue

    One Wing

    Far, Far Away

I Am Trying To Break Your Heart

    Bull Black Nova

    Impossible Germany

    Jesus, Etc.

    Can't Stand It

I'm The Man Who Loves You

    Hate It Here

    Walken

    Sunken Treasure

    My Country Has Disappeared

    Remember The Mountain Bed

  5. Hello Everyone,

I spent a very rainy and stormy Friday night going through my DVR tv shows. One show that I really like (4 episodes in) is Castle with Firefly's Nathan Fillion.

Anyways, there was a guy on the show that I thought looked like Jeff Tweedy. He had something similar about him that I can't describe. His name is Michael Reilly Burke.

    Michael_Reilly_Burke.jpg

    burke.jpg

  6. Hey,

Yeah, I caught this too. Almost came here to post this but realized we hear Wilco in all sorts of weird places now. Yes, it was used in some montage. I think for the whole month of March Carson has been on the road. Also, he had The Arcade Fire's Ocean Of Noise and Pixies' Tony's Theme in other montages too.

    Kristofor

  7. Oh sorry if you don't like Western Mass. Jeff's manager Tony likes it so much he's moving he's moving here! (ha). And you got your Tweedy jokes all wrong.

p.s. that crowd was unruly and severely obnoxious. and to the girls next to me screaming for him to play "on and on", I hope they weren't too upset hearing not one SBS song. Ha ha ha.

I LOVE Western Mass. Like I said it's a bit taxing to drive home (southern NH) after at such a late hour. Luckily, I had someone with me. Last time I went by myself. I don't know how I used to do it. Man, I'm getting old at 30 already. LOL. I feel bad for the people who came from CT, NY or anywhere else far, far away.

I think I messed up some of what Tweedy said because behind me people kept screaming out "She's A Jar!!!" "Kamera!" "Casino Queen!" and than people were shushing those people. Maybe perfectecho was sitting around me.

But like I said in my post they weren't 100% accurate, but I think did get the gist of it. It wasn't like I said "So Godzilla came into Chicago and hit Tony over the head with a hoagie and than he ran around naked." When I come on here after Wilco plays a show I like to see the setlist and hear some of what was said. So I tried to do that after Friday's show. It's not like I claimed I bought a transcript of the show. It was from memory which wasn't 100% accurate. Perception is a funny thing. Anyways, I just noticed a couple of people mentioning that while I was coming back on here to see if the show has surfaced. I think more than anything I was surprised because people were right about his stories and I don't know maybe my blood sugar was low. I am hypoglycemic and snuck in some candy to avoid any incident. I also have developed anxiety (maybe from hypoglycemia) over the past couple of years. The reason why I bring this up is because an old co-worker of mine was a diabetic and his blood sugar was low and he kept on working. Customers came over and said he's messing up transactions. So I covered for him and when he came back he had no recollection of what had happened. So I guess for me this pretty much confirms that I had some kind of episode at the show. I'm not trying to put you or anyone on the guilt train just trying to explain my situation which actually makes me feel kind of good. Is there anyone else here that suffers from something that makes them worry about going to a show?

    Kristofor

  8. Amazing!

Jeff mentioned in his typical fashion that "hey you guys keep screaming out songs that I played last time I was here!" I thought this was extremely clever and great that he cares to take note of what he did all the way back in 2005. Only 8 songs out of 27 were repeated from that night. That's really nice. I mean you couldn't ask for anything more than being catered to if you went last time. Jeff sounded amazing and so did his guitar.

Jeff's banter of the night circled around stories of his Dad. Some of the following aren't 100% exact just what I remember.

"My Dad told me this...find a fat girl to marry...that way when you grab her there's always something good there."

"My Dad gave me this advice...you don't need to back up when there isn't anywhere to go."

"when I was in the studio in New Zealand my phone went off and it was my Dad so I picked up and decided to put it on speaker phone which I regret because my Dad says " I'm Naked!"

to a guy that got up in the front row after a song..probably most likely for a beer or bathroom - "hey I'm sorry I think I hurt his feelings about the clapping...i think he left?!" - not sure if anyone got that it was quick but priceless and makes me worried to be that close and have to do nature's call.

to a woman up close "hey did you just lift up your shirt?!...oh wait you had one of those weird sweater shirt things..." woman says something yea right..."hey it's happened before...once..." priceless....

    Kristofor

PS Hope everyone made it safely home. I'm getting tired of these shows out in Western MA. I LOVE it out there, it's just a brutal drive home. Next time I think i'm going to get a hotel. So when Wilco announces June tour dates I hope there's one in Boston proper.

  9. Hey man,

I think Jeff's fantastic show tonight went almost until 11. I'm pretty sure. I think he came out for the last encore around 1045. I remember being in my car waiting to do the 1hr45min drive back at 1106pm exactly. I was going to wait around out back, but I'm glad I left right away. I was just really tired. I hope though that if Jeff did come out and greet some fans that that all went well.

    Kristofor

ps Bbop, it was nice seeing you. I saw you outside the men's room on the entrance level.

pps...did anyone else out there find it taxing on the eyes to look at the show? I think it was a strange case of me not being far back enough and just close enough so that Jeff looked a bit fuzzy. Ok the fatigue is telling me to stop.

  10. Hey,

I will be there with my friend Phil who has never seen Jeff solo (he's been to the Pavillion 07/Tanglewood 08). He is more excited than I am. He's hooked on Jeff's banter and knows this is the venue for that. This will be my 2nd Jeff solo show. The first time in 2005 I met him outside and got my picture taken with him. There was a good fanbase waiting outside.

I will be in row L on the floor.

  11. Hey Everybody,

I just prepurchased Ashes Of American Flags DVD. I got a mv4 of Monday which was awesome!!

I don't want to sound like a complainer but I noticed something while watching Monday. It felt very claustrophobic and I thought it was ironic since this was the reason why they shelved the Kicking Television DVD. Right? Well, I am grateful to have an official LIVE Wilco DVD but when you look at it you can definitely tell that it's at a small venue and there's maybe 3-4 cameras to capture the action. Now I'm thinking that the reason was that it was too much in 2005 to release a live CD AND a DVD. It is nice to space things out. Maybe the other shows on this DVD are shot differently which I think is the case. Hey, I'm a happy camper.

Onto the HD vs. DVD debate, well I found a nice link over Christmas that was an interesting and informative read. There's three main things about making Blu Ray fully worth it - I will paraphrase here and I know a lot of people know about this type of stuff but here I go-

Tv Size - depending on how big the tv is makes a big difference (obviously lol)

Tv Resolution 720p vs. 1080p - you need 1080p to fully appreciate every pixel for Blu Ray

TV distance to viewer - if your tv is too close, things will look pixellated and so on.

    http://reviews.cnet.com/720p-vs-1080p-hdtv/?tag=mncol;txt

The link is up above if you want to skim through it. I went to college for film and learned about all that stuff and still find it tough to keep up with and argue with people about. Simply it's about one's taste for a television.

    Kristofor

PS I just noticed some posts about Monday being available and some other stuff.

  12. Hey The Bunk,

    What's your alias on Interference?

Yeah, I was so frustrated and dizzy from trying to win tickets all day I hadn't visited VC until now at 1a.m.

    You get lucky?

In other news my DVD-R fucked up and recorded in HQ for tonight's Letterman. I had taped last night's in SP and only got 33 minutes tonight. :dontgetit

Even the DVR got cut off too.

Damn! Well, I'll either wait for a dvd torrent or for the eventual repeat in 2 weeks or so. Just to have it for the archives.

    Kristofor

  13. Hey,

Yeah, the 1st WBCN song they played was the easiest I Will Follow. So the DJ claims that they will play a 2 second sample from each song once. So that will make it easier. I've even heard Somerville Theater and the new Showcase Live at Foxboro Stadium as the "secret venue". Who knows!? Great idea, but obviously very frustrating. I hope they don't announce the venue until it goes live on air. Otherwise it'd be mass chaos at the venue. Good luck!

    Bring it on suckas!

    Kristofor

PS Let's hope Tweedy doesn't get any ideas and make setlists like this.

  15. Hey,

Wow! I came home to this news!

Being impatient, foolish and logical I looked into the major clubs in Boston, they all appear to be booked.

George Thorogood is at the new HOB.

    OK GO is at Paradise.

Hall And Oates is at the Orpheum.!!

So that doesn't leave much. I don't do the Boston club scene anymore so maybe I'm forgetting a few.

I have a hunch it might be in the studio of say WBCN.

Agganis Arena at Boston University isn't "small" but it fits with what I'm hearing about there being a secret show on Friday March 6 at Fordham University.

Oh well, I'll guess I'll have to wake up early at 7a.m. Monday to find out about a special show that I won't even win tickets for.

    Kristofor

  16. Hey,

Did not see this mentioned, but U2 is on Comcast On Demand. You can see almost all of their videos and concert DVDs in HD or Standard Definition.

Notably absent is the video for Please. They have the 2 versions of Staring At The Sun and all 3 versions of One. I think there are a few more different versions on here of certain songs.

The concerts are U2 Elevation Tour from Boston, Vertigo from Chicago, Vertigo from Milan, Zoo TV from Syndey, and The Joshua Tree from Paris. Not sure if the Mexico City PopMart is on there.

    Kristofor

PS Oh..yeah just click on music than go down 3 pages on the menu and you should see U2 listed towards the end.
