  1. Hey Everyone,

Here is the Youtube link for "You And I".

Jeff Tweedy played this on September 3 of this year in Spain I believe.

I am not sure if this was ever on Dime or anywhere for that matter. The above link is the only part of the song I have heard.

The Tweedy Sept 2008 dates are not listed on Wilcobase, so it's tough to track down the show. Unless you have the passion to do so. :thumbup

I really love all of the new songs we've been treated to. The song on the 26th is amazing. The John Lennon comparison is spot on.

The song on the 25th definitely reminds me of The Animals and the sounds of the 60s and even Pearl Jam's covers of Last Kiss and Soldier Of Love and Throw Your Arms Around Me. So maybe this can work out to be a radio hit like mentioned in this thread.

I still love One Wing and even Sunny Feeling. Can't wait for next year and December 13 for Neil and Wilco.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  2. Hey Everyone,

How about having it be in Hawaii in February. That way they will have played in that state.

Just an idea but I think it'd be pretty awesome. They could totally do it.

Plus, not sure how many Wilco fans currently live in Hawaii anyways.

This would obviously bring us there.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  3. Hey Everyone,

I just got 2 GA Floor tix.

Pretty expensive but I will shut my mouth since this is really a double bill in my mind.

I assume the $90 tickets are loge or balcony.

Than there were some for $230(?) that maybe were the first few rows of loge I hope.

The $50 tix actually comes with an AM/FM radio that you attach to your car and you can listen to the show in their garage.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  4. Hey The Maker,

He was actually referring to the yet to be released This Side Of The Truth. Which I was an extra in and Ricky Gervais directed and starred in.

No release date has been set.

But yeah it is too bad that Ghost Town didn't do that well. I think it makes for a really great rental.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  5. The title pretty much sums it up. I was shocked to hear the opening riff of this song in an important scene towards the end of the film.

It probably is on for 1.5 minutes.

    Overall, great film.

Ricky Gervais is amazing in it.

I actually got to speak to/meet Ricky Gervais this past April in Lowell, MA when he was directing and acting in This Side Of The Truth. I played a background extra/passer by.

I told him "good luck with the film." His quick reply, "Thanks, it'll go straight to DVD anyways ! "

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  6. Hey,

I tried calling the DCU Center this morning and asked about Neil Young. The woman said "if you don't see it listed on our website than it is not confirmed yet. Thanks, goodbye." :dontgetit Yeah. So I guess asking about Wilco at that point was not going to happen.

For me my bet is to wait it out. MSG tix obviously should not be hard to get rid of if a Worcester show is announced.

It's interesting that the MSG presale is one week before the Philadelphia presale. Considering that the Philadelphia show happens to be 3 nights before MSG. Anways, December is really a long way off. Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Maybe they are waiting until MSG and Philly sell out and than they will announce Worcester. I don't know and I guess I will have to be patient with them.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  7. Hey All,

Yeah, I was going to post that it was listed on Everest's myspace page. But since it is not on Wilcoworld, I am second guessing Livedaily's info.

I thought that maybe with Labor Day the page wasn't updated, but it says that the tour page was updated on Sept 2nd and has yet to show Worcester.

The official word I hope will come soon. Maybe even this week.

In weird and pessimistic news, I looked up Neil Young tour dates and came across a couple of online ticket agencies listing Neil Young and only him

for Worcester, MA. I don't know. Maybe Wilco is in the witness protection program for Worcester. I can't remember anything like this where we were so unsure about a little tour date.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

    PS Fingers are crossed !

    Hey Everyone,

Well I was waiting for Neil Young and Wilco to add a show in the Boston area. It's going to be at the DCU Center (formerly the Worcester Centrum) on Sat December 13.

    Yuck :yucky Very shitty venue.

At least they'll be here. I think. It still says that Wilco are not playing the Dec. 9th show in Chicago. And playing everything else from Nov. 30th onwards.

In fact looking at the new tour schedule, it looks like the Worcester date is the only new Neil Young and Wilco show. Hmm. Hopefully more to come.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

PS I realize I also posted this in the other Neil Young/Wilco thread but I don't know if people would look at that. Heck, I wouldn't have known either unless I checked out livedaily which I rarely do. This is new information from livedaily and it is not on

Wilco's official website but it is on Neil's.

So feel free to delete this once it is officially announced. Or just keep the other thread going.

    Enjoy !!

  10. Hey,

I am going to see this show with 2 of my friends. They are sitting together. My other friend is backing out due to work/etc.

So I have one ticket available in section Section 4 Row F.

Which means you'll be sitting next to me. I am a 29 year old male who likes Wilco. I don't drink so I won't be that guy who ruins it for everyone. :thumbup

My friends are around the same age.

    We're good people.

So unfortunately we can't pick anyone up since we're coming from Southern NH. And we have a tight time frame as is.

Unless, you are along our path of Rt. 3, 495, or the Mass Pike. Ultimately, we'd like to meet someone there and sell the ticket which is face value plus fees.

    Think it was $46.

So contact me via here or leave me a voice mail at 978-807-1924.......a text is fine too.

    Kgeorgeou@comcast.net works too

    Thanks,

    Kristofor Georgeou

PS If I don't get rid of this by tomorrow, I will leave this thread open. If you are within a good distance of this area and have no other options as of tomorrow give me a call and maybe the ticket will still be available.

PPS I will be out for the afternoon from 2-330 so I may not get back to you right away.

Same with 6-830....I have a class.

    Thanks !

  11. I'll be there in Section 4 Row F. About 20 rows back on Pat/John/Jeff's side. Pretty close to being dead center.

My 2 friends are on Nels' side in Section 3 row L. 10 rows back.

I can't wait! I'm also pretty excited to watch them tonight from my computer.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  12. Hello Everyone,

I tend to agree with people's opinions. I hope that Wilco doesn't repeat the same sound as Sky Blue Sky. I believe they won't. However, the same feel of 6 amazing musicians playing in the studio will still be present.

I do see/hear the similarities to the previous record, but I think Wilco is maybe deliberately playing these 2 songs 1st. Line up the Conspiracy Theorists :stunned

I guess i think it's some sort of weird easy transition phase. What i hope is that Wilco is saving the more ambitious/different songs for later down the road.

In some ways these songs are different. Anyways, I am going around in circles here and my grammar is failing on me in the a.m.

I am trying to piece together how the SBS songs premiered over time. I guess you could say that how those songs came about no one really knew what direction the record would go. They were all different from each other. And we got to hear the majority of them before the record came out.

    Have faith.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

PS Anyone think that Let's Fight will "fight" it's way onto the next record ? I dislike previous album leftovers as much as the next guy. Personally, I kind of think Let's Fight is a really damn good song(got to hear it at the Pines in 06). For fun if Let's Fight, One Wing and Sunny Feeling are our first indication of the direction what do you all think ? So for me these are all very strong and different sounding songs. But yes I can see where it comes off as SBS Pt. 2 : Electric Boogaloo. :ohwell

  13. I posted these comments about the 2 new songs in After The Show.....I want to put them here to see if anyone feels the same. I like anyone I guess hates to keep on saying "oh this reminds me of this so ... blah blah...."....... but I guess it's a good thing to hear influences in music. It's just natural.

    "First impression :

One Wing - beginning guitar parts reminded me of The Cure(not sure which era). But than I went through my iPod and I realized it actually reminded me more of Interpol's Hands Away on Turn On The Bright Lights. I love the guitar sounds and lyrics and the ending is just amazing. Like nothing Wilco has done before.

Sunny Feeling - like people have been saying dark lyrics with an upbeat jaunty melody. I love it because it's a great tune and sounds fantastic and it helps that it's completely different to One Wing. Actually, after a few listens it sounds like a distant cousin to Walken.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

    PS Enjoy Folks !"

  14. Hey Jim,

The recording sounds great. Really loving the 2 new tunes. Yeah, I immediately put the show in my iPod and only there it shall reside. I will keep my eyes/ears out for the FLAC bit torrent.

  15. Hey Jim,

Thanks for the mp3 link. I like everyone else on this board is dying to hear these 2 new Wilco songs. We are truly spoiled.

I am sure the recording sounds fine. I will let you know. Anyways, as I was driving home tonight around midnight I was thinking if either of the 2

Alaska shows would show up. Sadly, this has truly made my night. :thumbup

I am super psyched to see Wilco at Tanglewood in 2 weeks. It will be my 15th time seeing them.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  16. Hello All,

Blood Of The Lamb is indeed in War, Inc. It is featured in one of the most serious scenes and adds such a dark and somber mood that it was a perfect choice.

There's about 2 minutes of it and it is about 80 % upfront in the sound mix. There's a little bit where Joan Cusack talks over it but you can still hear it.

Anyways, the film was absolutely terrific and packed with all kinds of ideas and tone shifts to make your head spin.

I want to run back to Boston to see it again.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

PS Sadly Tweedy's name was spelled wrong in the credits....as "Tweedie".

    Oh well.

  17. Hello everyone,

Well, John Cusack's new movie is already out in 2 cities as of now. NY and LA. Actually, it's only in 2 theaters total.

It expands to Boston, San Francisco, DC, and Chicago on June 13th.

    www.myspace.com/johncusack

According to John Cusack's myspace page (hey, he updates it with video diaries), Wilco & Billy Bragg's Blood Of The Lamb is on the soundtrack.

Along with Ray Davies' The Tourist and David Bowie's Sorrow.

Here is what this site has to say about the movie. It sounds terrific.

"In an effort to monopolize the opportunities the war-torn nation offers, Tamerlane hires a troubled hit-man HAUSER, who suppresses his emotions by chugging shots of hot sauce, to kill a Middle East oil minister. Now the assassin, struggling with his own growing demons, must pose as the corporation's trade show producer in order to pull off this latest hit, all the while maintaining his cover by organizing the high-profile wedding of YONICA BABYYEAH, an outrageous Middle Eastern pop star and keeping a sexy left-wing reporter NATALIE HEGALHUZEN in check.

This audaciously funny and surprisingly poignant film written by Mark Leyner, Jeremy Pikser and producer/star John Cusack, also stars Hilary Duff, Marisa Tomei, Joan Cusack, Dan Aykroyd and Ben Kingsley."

    That's all,

    Kristofor

  18. Well,

This song is amazing!!! I downloaded this off of iTunes using my xmas gift card at 3am. Unfortunately, you can't buy the single song and Wilco is the best thing on this soundtrack. I was psyched to have a new Wilco tune and this did not disappoint especially after the 30 second Amazon.com sample.

The lyrics I had to write down because they are so fantastic. This song definitely is a distant cousin of Hate It Here.

I realize there is a lyrics section on here, but I didn't know if it would be checked for this song so soon.

These are some of Jeff's best lyrics in here. If anyone here hears something different let us know. Enjoy.

    Glad It's Over

    I don

  19. Hey,

I was thinking about this the other night when I was blown away by this whole concept.

I kind of have this idea of them opening with their opening track each night and than moving around their catalog.

    Night 1 : I Must Be High

    Night 2 : Misunderstood

Night 3 : I Am Trying To Break Your Heart

Night 4 : At Least That's What You Said

    Night 5 : Either Way

Yea, I can't really see Can't Stand It opening a show or being played. We'll have to see.

Someone will have to tally up all of Wilco's recordings to see how many songs they have. I think I see 96 on another thread.

I was at all 3 Pearl Jam shows from 2003 in Boston where they tried to attempt this. I think they only missed three songs (Red Mosquito, Last Exit, Glorified G).

I may think of 5 different setlists for these shows at some point.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  20. Well,

I was at the cinema tonight to see The Hunting Party and there was an amazing trailer for Reservation Road. It featured Sunken Treasure towards the end. It used the opening strumming and some lines in the verse(s) and the rock out part towards the end to synch up with the actor's names. Unfortunately, the only internet trailer has Damien Rice's Grey Room in the same part. So hopefully before the film comes out on October 19th this 2nd trailer shows up online.

Is this the first time Wilco's music has been used in a trailer ? I seem to think it is.

I was the only person in the theater and let out a huge " YES !!!" when I heard the opening strum. In fact, it was so damn distracting that I don't remember anything from the 2nd half of the trailer.

This film is being pushed for Oscar season. It's about two fathers played by Mark Ruffalo and Joaquin Phoenix, whose lives intertwine after one is involved in an accident resulting in death involving the other father's son. Got it. Good.

    Thanks,

    Kristofor

  21. This is from March 28, 2007. As you can see John's Boston in June story came out to be. Also, I remember Pat saying Boston would be in the fall. Anyways, here is the post. I am surprised that people remember this story. I kind of think a few other people might have spoken to John or even Pat as well about a new record.

    "Hello,

I would like to throw in my .02 cents. I spoke to John Stirratt after The Autumn Defense show last Tuesday in Cambridge, MA. I gave a short review of it and I forgot to mention something he mentioned. I told him I loved Sky Blue Sky and asked him what plans were in store after the release of Sky Blue Sky. He told me to expect the next record sooner than you think. I gave him a double whammy of a baffled face and "R E A L L Y ?!!" He said "yeah." I believe John and the whole point of this post. John also mentioned that Wilco would be in the North East in June. I wouldn't come on here to lie. It does seem possible with the recording of Sky Blue Sky that there is a plethora of material waiting to be sequenced.

    Thanks

    Kristofor

PS Anyone speak to John or Pat after their shows ? "

I think it's clever to have Joaquin Phoenix as JT and Philip Seymour Hoffman as JB. That way they can continue their competition from the 2006 Oscars. When they both get nominated for the Wilco motion picture.

    Thanks,
