i can't even say i've ever been that big a fan of theirs - but i could watch this stuff forever. totally awesome.
-
glenn racing and tending to cattle, nels climbing a mountain as a wizard, john, pat and mikael scaring kids and tweedy riding a horse and swordfighting with knights..
and tony as a gangster??
-
Bill Paxton's Frailty, Danny DeVito's Throw Momma From The Train,
i had no idea they each directed these.
-
thanks for posting, but, i've gotta say- i was excited to hear this - and it was a pleasant sounding little wash of sound and swell, but other than the little 'beep' heard in the intro and the vaguest hint of tweedy's voice echoing in the mist - this had little to nothing to do with poor places imho and really doesn't go anywhere musically enough to be worth calling a remix
-
awesome clip- i always expected him to be standoffish but he seems almost bashful and goofy.
-
simply amazing.

i was just last week re-listening to the post pump catalog - and honestly - if you leave off a couple of Tyler's schlockier tunes, nine lives and just push play are two pretty strong records.
-
i like the way the interviewer states up front that he's not a journalist and is just reading from a list of questions as a translator, but then seems to do nothing but ad lib followups.

best wishes...

you're moving from boston???

I don't have the setlist, so I apologize right off the bat. If nobody else does, I know bböp will post one at some point. But I thought I'd start the topic for discussion in the meantime, and reserve his favorite title protocol.
I'd just like to inform Tamala that the rainbow SG was used for "Too Far Apart" tonight.
Great night! great show! and great seeing you and bbop tonight! safe travels!

awesome news!!

I highly doubt it. It would seem to "nip it in the bud" for a Wilco summer venue show in Jun-early Sept in Boston.
At least that's the impression that I get from these smaller venues.
Meaning 2 shows in Boston in April would offset a sellout at say the Bank Of America Pavillion in say late August.
i'd be surprised for 2 nights at the orpheum, but i'd also be surprised to see them back at the pavillion this summer- its not as though its a yearly thing. they've just done there in 03 and 08 - right? everything else has been noho or lowell.

Would LOVE to see one from Lowell in the pouring rain from last week... anyone?
and jeeeze - if John's not leaping off his amp in that photo above he needs to try out a basketball career - that's some pretty impressive vertical distance if its just a stage jump. damn.
-
who is bbop and how does he get to all the shows?
powerful jedi is he.
planes, trains and automobiles.

When bböp posts in this thread, the board will collapse.
i just spit beer on my screen....

Really really amazing night. they were as 'on fire' as i've ever seen them. Bull Black Nova, which on record is not my favorite, was devastating live. so many new songs really shone in a new light last night. and the band were having a blast -
here's a link to some amazing pics that a local boston blog took at the show...

billy is quite often referencing wilco in his blog - always has them on his playlists of things he listened to that day (when he lists such) and yes - to agree with the above - as big an impact on my life as buffalo tom have had (easily in my top 5) the crown vic/solo shows he does at toad and the lizard lounge here in cambridge are not to be missed and almost more vital and exciting the bufftom - 3+ hour afairs with amazing covers, great originals and the occasional BT songs thrown in as well. absolutely great shows. i can't highly enough recomend checking one out if you're ever in town when he's playing.

if you are in search of something to do - and want to see some rootsy powerpop - come check me out - my second ever time playing in NYC tonight with my band THE RATIONALES> we're on at 9pm at arlene's grocery. thanks!
-
actually T, they had to remove any refernces to the boston show from the web as they were worried about work visa issues on the way into town - the club screwed up their visa's so they had to say they were only playing NYC.
What a show. if i owe you thanks for turning me onto my favorite album of the past year - i owe you double thanks for the best damn show i've seen since the wren's came through town - they were intense and amazing and just blew everyone away. the entire room was abuzz afterwards with 'oh my god - these guys are amazing' energy. so damn good and such sweethearts.
IF YOU LIVE IN NYC I URGE YOU TO GO SEE THEM TONIGHT AT ARLENE'S Grocery - i think they're on early at 8. you will not be disapointed!
