somewhat related- a bunch of my college friends from western ma (n. adams, pittsfield etc.) always insisted that the portions of NY and MA between the connecticut and hudson should be its own state.

speaking of the loft, are there any photos of it online? or a website or anything?
i guess it's strictly private huh.
well, there is that whole double gatefold photo in the lp and cd out yesterday, a new movie filmed there on the dvd, the cover of the songbook, a huge percentage of the wilcobook and another movie filmed there in 01. other than that though... pretty private.
or
i don't know about online but i'm sure a search for wilco will bring some back.

pre-asbestos warmth vs. fiberglass as the center of the insulation circle?

thats pretty weird, but i still maintain the the weirdest use of wilco ever was the time when they were all used to dress up as elves and made to walk aroud the chistmas craft fair at the redlands CA shriners auditorium giving out free samples of poprocks fruit rollups on behalf of the warner brothers affiliated nabisco foods.

Wow, One True Vine is absolutely gorgeous.
definitley sounds like it'd be at home on a folk station or movie soundtrack, but thats taking nothing away from it. Fantastic song.

great trivial minds....

you know the dudes from Fountains of Wayne wrote it?
but further FYI the actual performances of the songs are mike viola from the candy butchers.

holy shheeeit it seems like yesterday. that was 3 years!? eeesh. to think that this place has now been up for nearly 5 is mind boggling.

we should rent a winnebago for the noho show.

i agree with lots of the above
thinking back to the 90s i haven't yet seen:
cracker - brand
jellyfish - bellybutton
lanois - acadie
chris whitley - living with the law

i'm just guessing here, but i get the sense that the next next record if more of the 'dirty soul record' that was being alluded to early on in the press... songs like thanks i get, lets fight, LNGCA, and more along those lines, etc. which would have definitely ruined the peaceful easy vibe of what was becoming SBS so they decided to do two on the heels of each other rather than one. But i also expect that with time and touring and new ideas that the idea could morph even further and turn into something else entirely again.

i like them all as well, but halfway to a threeway is one of my favorite albums ever. just the overall mood is transfixing.

i absolutley love my Martin 000M which i think streets for around $600 or so.
I love it so much that i swore i'd take better care of it than any guitar i've ever had, never take it out to gigs, and store it safely the way the music stores store them. On a hanger. On a wall. above the baseboard heater, that is also an outside wall of the house. in the winter. the repair shop says i'll have it back in a week and that the crack shouldn't be noticable.
i'm sure no one out there is as big an idiot as me, but since i wish someone had done this last year for me to see... may i offer the public service anouncement of reminding you all to buy a $12 in soundhole humidifier and keep the acoustics in the case in the winter.

wow, i feel the total opposite. while at first walken stood out a bit from the rest of the vibe, even it has settled in to be a part of what i think is one of their smoothest flowing albums to date.

does anyone have that live version (or a solo version) of this that they feel like (re)posting? i need to hear this song live. thanks!
Studio version of "the thanks I get" in commercial.
