Watching transvestite dwarf porn while wearing a ball gag IS a guilty pleasure.
and incredibly specific.

'stoned soul picnic' is a really groovy record. i dig it a lot.

did any one else get choked up when jon stewart brought marketa irglova back out? because i totally did.

aw.... dammit
are you sure, dad? there's no way i can go?

the real question is....
who's hosting?
it had better be someone cool.

C'mon, that's my favorite part of the song! So bad its good, somehow...
i gotta agree with that. i love it.
it's one of those songs that doesn't have to be 'good' to be good.
musically, it's very pretty....i agree with chris about the banjo part.

that's right! at pitchfork we were tying to figure out where he was on the stage.

louieb won't have some planned, because he'll be visiting me in c-dale.

i'm not usually into screamy rock....
but these guys pretty much rocked my world on tuesday night.

oh gosh....TONS of bands....i've discovered a whole new scene in southern illinois that i didn't even know existed when i was still living in chicago.
recently i've been way into secondary modern, himalayas, the black fortys and cleanray.
of course, i still love my old chicago favorites....andrew bird, the waco brothers....and some band called wilco.

as a person of german jewish heritage....i get the feeling that me stealing hitler's wallet and ruining his day would probably be bad for history.

guilty pleasure? what's to feel guilty about?

dehydration has always worked for me. adrenaline kicks in and you don't notice until the show's over that you're about to die.

Happy Wednesday!!!
I was out rocking out all of last night....which brought me to the conclusion that we should bring back one of my favorite RSBF thread themes: Local RSBFs!
So, ladies and gents, represent your town and show off the local talent!
Saturday night brought together some major local RSBFness for me:
a girl could get used to that.

I hear ya - the lyrics ARE really heavy and amazing and touching. I just love how Jof & Peter manage to create such a bouncy feel to material that is so weighty. It's nice to be able to play the disc for the kids in my life that I love because I know they'll like the beat without knowing what the songs are "truly" about. I've thought about these guys almost constantly since they released TBPE in 2005 and now that a new album is on the horizon, with 2 songs that are extraordinarily promising, I'm soooooooo excited!!
is it possible these guys are the next they might be giants? (uh oh, here come the hyperbole police!!!)
i do like 'the best party ever'. it makes me so happy.

yay babies!
keaton is a wonderful name.

marilyn had a certain magic about her....not unlike greta garbo or marlene dietrich, they knew how to work with a camera. lindsey does not have any of that...she only knows how to attract cameras.
i find this whole concept painfully embarrassing.

for serious?
damn.
we've been getting it since the very beginning.

i'm starting to think it's time to bust out the vc photo album...

Could omebody please explain the aweomenes that is hotel arizona live. please i abolutely love this song and cant imagine how awesome it would be with the "new" wilco
it's awesome in the original definition of the word, not the slang definition.
that's all you need to know.

i wish jeff had let andrew do all of the whistling... after the show, in the car, we were talking about how he's probably the best whistler in the entire world, and that talent needs to be utilized.
hotel arizona blew my mind. too far apart totally kicked my ass. forget the flowers felt like a damn hoedown with the fiddle and everything (in a good way, of course.)
i nearly cried during 'dash 7' and 'it's just that simple'. beautiful stuff. the look on jeff's face as john took the spotlight was really heart melting.

i've met close to 100 vc'ers...i think. we used to have giant VC summits at our house.
last night i met oceanman without even knowing it, haha!
