Things which are modern...
and not so...

Man, what a song. Bring on that box set.
I think you will find more singing and dancing here than usual. This sounds very promising.
-
Man, I love youtube.
Haven't heard the album yet (buying it tonight!) but what a great song. It's great to see Jim White letting loose once again.

Read the article this morning, and later checked my e-mail to find a message from this guy. Seems like a cool character. Made me hungry for some ice cream, but luckily I remembered I had some free Cherry Garcia in the freezer. Nothing better than free ice cream.
Cherry Garcia. That is the best name for an ice-cream.

Stuck Inside Of Mobile...
Oh man, what a version!
-
Haven't listened in a while. Nels' Muzzle of Bees solo really blasts.
-
Ignore the video but does anyone know where this version comes from? Listening to Ryan Adams with Gillian...well, I don't think David Rawlings has much to worry about.
-
Hmmm...it's now listed for $17.99 at Amazon. Hot demand, perhaps?

I wish they would re-issue brighten the corners, that one is by far the best imo.
Yes, a great Pavement album. Surely they'll get to it. If they've re-issued the first three there's no reason to believe (crossed fingers) they won't get to the rest in their own time.

Great cover!

I was riding in a buggy with Miss Mary-Jane
Miss Mary-Jane got a house in Baltimore
I been all around the world, boys
Now I'm trying to get to heaven before they close the door.

Dinner with Jeff or Bob?
"It must be a holiday, there's nobody around
She studies me closely as I sit down
She got a pretty face and long white shiny legs
She says, "What'll it be?"
I say, "I don't know, you got any soft boiled eggs?""
-
Sure, I pray.

Wow...
down here it's the other way around. I wish I could post some pics but there are some things happening in the garden which let us know that spring is close to arriving: tiny lizards scurrying around the steps as we walk up to the front door, buds emerging on our citrus tree. It's like the whole place has been asleep and is just starting to rub its eyes awake...

if you wanna come on down
down with your bones so white
and watch the freight trains pound
into the wild wild night
how I would love to gnaw
gnaw on your bones so white
and watch as the freight trains paw
paw at the wild wild night
all these ghost towns
wreathed in old loam
Assateague knee-
deep in seafoam
ho, Swansea!
Buttonwillow!
Lagunitas!
ho, Calico!
and all these beastly bungalows
stare distend like endless toads
endlessly hop down the road
borne by wind we southward blow
and yonder, wild and blue
the wild blue yonder looms
'til we are wracked with rheum
by roads, by songs entombed
and all we wanna do
is chew and chew and chew
dear one
drive on
when all we wanna do
is chew and chew and chew
and if you wanna come on down
down with your bones so white
and watch the freight trains pound
into the wild wild night
how I would love to gnaw
to gnaw on your bones so-o white
and watch while the freight trains paw
paw at the wild wild night
paw at the wild wild night
paw at the wild wild night

Going back to old favourites this week. Beginning with:

Well I wish was in London
Or some other seaport town
Step my foot in a steamboat
And sail the ocean round
Sailing round the ocean
Sailing round the sea
I'd think of Handsome Molly
Wherever she may be
I saw her at church last Sunday
She passed me on by
I knew her mind was changing
By the roving of her eye
Her hair as black as a Raven's
Her eyes were black as coal
Her teeth shown like lilies
Out in the morning cold
Now do you remember Molly
When you give me your right hand
Said if you ever married
I'd be your man
Now you've broke your promise
Go marry whom you please
My heart is broken
'Til I get some ease
if i were to create a fake account today
