  1. On the rising curve where the ways of nature will test every nerve

You don't get anything you don't deserve where we were born in time.

    Don't worry, baby, I don't mind leaving

I'd just like it to be my idea.

Last night I danced with a stranger

But she just reminded me you were the one.

Well I've been to the mountain and I've been in the wind

I've been in and out of happiness

I have dined with kings, I've been offered wings

And I've never been too impressed.

Suddenly I found you and the spirit in me sings

Don't have to look no further, you're the soul of many things

I could say what songs these were from, but that would be too easy.

If you don't know, it might be fun finding out.

  2. The creep got arrested in Bankok. For what?

I figure it must be something really bad and he does not want to rot in a jail there.

So he is coming up with this story for a free airline ticket.

I'm sure he'd tell them where Hoffa was buried too.

But that has been used too many times by other creeps.

He just wants out of that country.

  3. I got on the bus in 1980.

I forgot to get off at the last stop.

Nice to see others are still riding too.

The album that got me was

    Skull in Roses (skull fuck)

    Wharf Rat

    and NFA>GDTRFB .

The Other One (that did it.)

Good bootleg years that I really enjoy

    are 1977 & 78.

But there are gems and nuggets sprinkled through-out

the mine. "Jez gotta poke around."

I did not see any hits for Terrapin Station.

(or is that too hard core?)

  4. Stay at the the Big Sur Campground along side the Big Sur River.

Walk up to the Gorge and go swimming and diving. Beautiful river and

    great diving off the rocks!

Stop in the Big Sur River Inn General Store.

Buy a Big Sur Bar or two.

    Tell Sarah, Ian says 'Hi"

Stop at the fresh water spring just south of the town of Big Sur.

The spring is call Rhimes. Fill up your water bottle with some tasty

    natural spring water.

Heading south be sure to stop at San Simeon State Beach (the Cove)

where the pier is. Nice sandy beach.

Head south some more, go into Cambria.

Go to The Rainbow Bean for coffee & ice cream and buy another Big Sur Bar.

    Stay clear of Morro Bay.

San Luis Obispo is a nice town to check out.

Tsurugi's Japanesse Restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Go the Nautical Bean for great coffee and stock up on Big Sur Bars

    Avoid L.A. at all costs.

Head straight to the Mojave desert and go for Sin City.

    Have a great time!

Careful its kinda hot in Death Valley this time of year. :thumbup

  5. As long as they continue Dick's Picks & From the Vault or other projects.

I think Rhino can do a good job in keeping the Deads music available

    for generations to come.

I'm glad I took the time to build my own vault.

1976 hrs of GD & JGB later I'll still add more.

Thank you Grateful Dead for always being

so cool with sharing your music.

  6. Great songs on that album.

    Nice collection.

    Some of John's best.

I am The Walrus, Strawberry Fields, Baby, You're Your A Rich Man,

    All You Need Is Love.

The demos and rehearsals of Strawberry Fields are great.

Not just what we got on Anthology v2 but the other stuff available on bootlegs.

    worth seeking.

    Couple cute Paul songs too.

(Paul wrote cute songs :P )

Blue Jay Way is a great George song.

"Please don't be long, please don't you be very long....don't be long

    don't be long, don't belong

    please don't belong"

  7. GO!

I saw them once in the strangest place.

At Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, in a big tent,

set up behind the Yodeler Bar in the parking lot.

    They rocked.

That was back in 1995 or 96.

I cant say for sure if it was the full original band.

John Doe & Exene for sure (duh).

    They rocked!

Considering the elevation there is 9000 ft they gave one hell of a performance.

Big fan of More Fun In The New World, Under The Black Sun & Los Angeles. :rock

    Not to forget The Knitters.

    Good stuff!

    Go!!!

    Everybody. Go!!!!!

    :rock

  8. I've been wondering about this group.

What is the range of people here?

    Age?

    How/when/why did you discover Wilco.

(sorry if this has been asked before)

    I'm 43ish

    Business owner

    Father of 2

Big fan of Dylan, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Beatles and the like.

Discovered Wilco thru Mermaid Ave Vol.1

Went straight to Tweedy bootleg (10/21/99) great show.

Wilco bootlegs for a couple years.

Did not buy a studio album until YHF.

    Then worked backwards til AM.

    A little UT.

    Enjoy all Tweedy side projects.

Only 2 live shows. (so far)

    Still collect Wilco boots.

    Wife likes Wilco.

    Employees dig Wilco.

Without a doubt (IMO) Wilco is the best working band out there today.

    Care to share your info?

  9. Hey Robert

How was the venue? Small crowd? Good crowd? Nice show!

    (Thanks for the article.)

    Anyways>

    Nice album, good listen.

    The wife digs it.

    Our employees rock to it.

    We work, we rock.

It is up there in the top 10 Wilco albums.

    My only complaint >

Too Far Apart is too short.

I'd like a 15 minute extended disco version.

    :D
