  1. I think you are thinking of an "E-bow."
  2. Wasn't aware Wilco did a version. Where would I find it? I've heard the UT version in their last show, but hadn't bothered to tab it out. Little Feat's version is in an open tuning, I believe. I've used open G and capoed it at the 2nd fret to get an open A and that works pretty well.
  3. for Little Feat or Uncle Tupelo or . . . ?
  4. open G or "slack" tuning ( DGDGBD ) is where you start.
  5. O.K. This is as far as I am going with this one. It's pretty close. Sorry it took me some time to get this in writing. Watch the DVD to get an idea of how this all goes together. Have fun! solo version in the IATTBYH DVD #2. 6. Try these places for power tabs. http://www.instantpowertabs.de.vu/ http://www.powertabs.net/ Power tabs combine tablature with a midi file and a metronome so that you can hear it as you read it. Not a lot of Wilco there, but plenty of stones, beatles, neil young (and a lot of c_ck rock! ) to get you started. You need to download Power Tab Editor (see the first link) to play them. Wish those were around when I started. I learned electric by playing the album over and over and over. Wow, things have changed. Good luck.
  7. Took a look at the DVD last night. My memory is not that good (although it had been about 6 months since I had seen it). Left a lot of stuff out, especially in the beginning lick (which is played again twice at the end). The G chord is not completely open either. He holds one or two fingers down and adds notes on as he's strumming. I made a couple of changes in an edit, but I took some notes and I'll post a more complete version here soon.
  8. Slack tuning (open G) DGDGBD for Acuff Rose and King Pin
