  1. This is a total generalization since I've never been to the club you're headed to, but the venues that seem the strictest with their camera policy are the big, showcase spaces. Smaller clubs don't tend to care for the most part and by all indications, neither does British Sea Power.

In addition to the wise tips posted above, here's one more: If you're feeling paranoid, save your shots until the encore or near the end of the show. That way, you'll probably have been able to determine the camera policy just by watching the other concertgoers. Also, you might be less likely to get busted with the concert drawing to a close.

  2. Thanks for the reminder about Kelley Stoltz! That's what I get for missing his Noise Pop show.

And T, you know your girl Basia Bulat is on the BSP record, right? (I mean, not prominently featured or anything, but she's mentioned in the liner notes.)

  3. This will be wild. This weekend goes against every grain of my being. I like to have everything planned well in advance to the last detail. This will be good. I need to be out of my element more.

    Words to live by. :thumbup

Now if only a great rate to Pittsburgh would pop up... :ninja

  4. I commend you on your inspiration and your commitment. Also, I admit that my main concern for the last two weeks has been trying to figure out how many BSP shows I can catch before they leave our shores.

Drive safely and have fun. :cheers

  5. My friend, whom I had dragged to a couple of Wilco shows (actually, one Wilco show and one of Jeff's solo shows), was volunteering at the LA Film Fest, where the film premiered. She called me the next day to tell me that she totally saw me rocking out in the movie. :blush

  6. Nick Lowe was on Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night... Performed I Trained Her To Love Me and PL & U.

Caught the YouTube capture, and I gotta say -- that's a good-looking backing band. :wub

04.11.2008 El Rey Theatre Los Angeles

    04.12.2008 The Fillmore San Francisco

It's bad enough that I can't make these dates, but then I have to discover they're with Robyn Hitchcock. :frusty
