Go! And stop whining about the Singers' coastal bias.

Things we couldn't have done before digital: snap away over five nights of shows. They're all up on Flickr.
-
the real question is....
who's hosting?
it had better be someone cool.
Ellen Page, I believe.
-
I love my DVR (sorry, it's British Sea Power night!).
-
Know your show photographers:

It might be the flu making me delusional, but did I take that photo? Irving Plaza?
Dave Mirabella snapped the shot. It's for this and many other reasons that we him.

I've met redjim, with one photo to prove it.

"Kingpin" from last night:
-
Someone was wielding a handheld camera at the wings of the stage, but I didn't see it for every song.
-
My tickets arrived in the mail very quickly as well.

Fuck the fashion police. Nels has style for miles and miles (so much style it's wasting).
Coincidence: If I'm not mistaken, the Vibiana (site of the afterparty) is the same place that hosted a secret Aimee Mann show last week.

I had been considering a trip to New York in May! The plot thickens...

There's a Juno promotional clip out there somewhere with Jason Bateman and Michael Cera where Jason jokingly says something to the effect of they need to find a time where Michael is available.
Regardless, I'm prepping my chicken dance.

I miss the writers, but it's nice to see three of the funniest people on TV letting loose:

If Nels ever decides to leave this music thing, watch out Vanna White!
Thanks for the link.

He did once scold me for not clapping along to a song, but I probably deserved it. Otherwise, I've always thought that he and the band go far above and beyond to bring the audience into their shows and make them feel at home.

I dug up a picture I took of them at their first show I saw (November 2003, I think):
How can I not be there??
-
Dammit, gonna miss them by a day.

4/29 - Santa Cruz, CA - The Rio Theatre
I love random shows. I wonder if this one will be doable...

I'm guessing not at Fez, where I believe he played the first time he did the solo thing.
According to Ticketmaster, it's two nights (4/16 and 4/17) at the Music Hall in Williamsburg.
Also:
4/28 at the Music Box at the Fonda in Los Angeles.
5/2 at the Showbox in Seattle

Oh yes, a much needed David Rawlings fix! The DVR is set.
-
Yay! I can't wait to see them again.

Man, I love this band.
Stage dive knocks out musicianIndie band British Sea Power's keyboard and cornet player ended up in hospital after being knocked unconscious when he attempted a stage dive.
The crowd at Leeds Irish Centre failed to catch Phil Sumner, who jumped off a 12-foot PA system landing head first.
A spokeswoman for the band said: "The impact knocked him out straight away. He was unconscious for three minutes and there was a lot of blood."
Despite a broken molar and stitches he returned to the stage on Thursday.
'Very brave'
"It all looked a lot worse than it really was," said the spokeswoman.
"He's being very brave and getting on with it," she added.
This is not the first time injury has struck the group.
Just before they embarked on their sold-out UK tour, drummer Matthew Wood slipped a disc in his back whilst sweeping with a dustpan and brush.
Tom White of Brakes and Electric Soft Parade has stepped in for Wood while he recovers.
