  1. the one concern i have about this franchise is how they introduce villains and how many they introduce at once--i really hope they pace themselves and allow for proper development of characters backstories, leading up to their transformation into villains. especially two-face, riddler, etc. i mean, i'm not a huge comic book buff at ALL, but i have a general awareness of characters and plotlines. and when you have legendary villains like venom finally introduced (in spiderman 3), only to be given lip service and then a hasty demise, it's frustrating.

  2. season 4 trailer just came out the other day too...real quick, only about 30 seconds, and it's so jam-packed with quick cuts that it's hard to tell what you're looking at. anyway, i'll see if i can dig up a link, ABC might've taken it off of youtube already.

  3. man, i hate clowns. this movie is not going to help matters :unsure

i was a little unsure what to think when i heard they were relaunching the batman franchise, although with nolan at the helm i wasn't too concerned. "batman begins" exceeded my expectations, and this...well, it's safe to say that "the dark knight" is the only comic book movie that i've ever been highly anticipating for a year in advance of release. it's the only comic book movie that i've EVER been this excited about. extremely high hopes about this.

and the trailer didn't even show aaron eckhart! i keep on forgetting that this movie will introduce two-face as well...it's gonna be good. real good.

edit: and i just checked out whysoserious.com...all those pictures of clowns in different cities!? i will have a heart attack if i start seeing that around town.

  4. i've had doubts during certain points--mainly the middle third of season 2 which was so dull, and then the start of season 3 when they had that arc of 6 episodes in the fall--but the balance of season 3 really restored my faith in the show. especially the finale, which i still consider to be one of the best twists in television ever. and i agree that a set point will only help them keep on track and tighten things up.

january 31st can't come soon enough.

  5. anyone else notice that the ambient organ melody during We Close Our Eyes (which is sort of a weird reprise of All In It) is basically the same as the Office theme song? :lol

someone mentioned this on another msg board, and now the song's been pretty much ruined for me...i was listening to it on the bus yesterday and almost started laughing out loud when the organ kicked in.

  6. All My Friends--LCD

    The Temptation of Adam--Josh Ritter

    Fake Empire--National

    Mending of the Gown--Sunset Rubdown

    Impossible Germany--Wilco

By no means my definitive list, but I don't have my music library here with me and those are the first ones that come to mind. And there are about 30 other songs that could've just as easily made that list.
