  1. is the presale at noon just on the ticketmaster site? do you put the password in there?

I'm confused about this Wilcoworld pre-sale today at ticketmaster. when I go to TM, it says pre-sale starts Thurs. at Noon. I've got the password for the supposed today pre-sale, but don't know where to go???

    Any help? thanks

  2. the drive through kansas is the worst drive in america.i do recommend stopping by cozy in in salina for the best hamburgers on earth, white castle style with a little more class.and always go to chubbys in denver for the best mexican food in america.

I recommend the Cozy Inn in Salina too. It's been years since I've been there, but it probably hasn't changed much, very small place; 5, maybe 6 seats at a counter, that's all, but really great hamburgers! :thumbup

  3. Just got home from the show....we had a great time! We were in center section row J on the floor and the sound was very good from there, sounded pretty much like all the other Wilco shows I've been to..... The Cincy crowd was very much into this show, minimal talking around us and folks were pretty familiar with the new songs as there was a lot of singing along and everyone seemed to be having a good time.

I really loved the new songs, especially Bull Black Nova (rocked) and You Never Know (really gorgeous). I did miss hearing Via Chicago. Didn't really thing the show was shortchanged on time. I'd say 2 hrs is pretty normal. Also, where were you Paul? I thing it's the first Wilco show I've not seen you at! :worship

One thing I'd add to Jeff's banter.....I had noticed someone to the left of us and closer to the stage put up a sign for the band to read....Jeff finally acknowledged it, saying something like, "I see this sign they keep holding up, saying 'we drove all the way here from Chicago', Jeff says so what? so did we...we drive all over the place" It was pretty funny the way Jeff said it as only he can....plus we too had driven from near Chicago to be at the show so it was no big deal... :P

Another thing, I know there's been a thread about bringing your kids to Wilco shows and I think it's fine most of the time because Jeff appreciates having kids in the audience, but in the row in front of us to the right side were a guy and 2 woman with a very small child that they kept taking turns holding. The child was no older than 2 yrs ago I'd say. Poor little thing was trying to sleep most of the time, however, there was no visible signs of ear protection, nothing, not even a hat to cover his little ears. I worried about this little child so much that it was distracting me from the show. I sure hope he doesn't have damage to his little ears.... :omg

  4. Did nobody in Chitown hit this show? Would love to get a rundown. Autumn Defense opened...

I was there... Autumn Defense sounded really nice, but the crowd near me persisted in talking throughout, pissed me off.

Mark and Gary were great, did most of the new record, plus lots of old faves.... Saw Louie there...

  5. Overall it was a great night. I've seen the Jayhawks more than any other band, but I'm not a huge fan of Vagabonds. I wasn't sure what to expect from this show, but it was a really enjoyable night. Gary sounded great, of course his guitar playing is always great, and he was in good spirits. He made a few references to the Jayhawks playing some shows together again, which is an interesting thought. Will it be the most recent incarnation of the Jayhawks? Or will it include Olson and Grotberg? I'd be interested to hear more about this if anyone knows more.

The upcoming Jayhawks shows will be the 1995 edition, with Mark Olson, Karen Grotberg, Tim O'Reagan and of course Marc Perlman. This is the lineup that played at a festival in Spain last month. :cheers

I saw him last night, both shows, in Chicago. Set lists were similar to what you listed. Maybe the old Golden Smog song you didn't know was "Won't Be Coming Home", as he played that one last night. Both sets were very different, with just a few overlaps. Gary also played "Easy to be Hard", from the first Golden Smog EP long long ago. Gary really shines solo, with just his guitar and that beautiful voice.... :wub It was a wonderful night!

  6. I am shocked the Hummingbird is off the setlist. I thought they played it a almost ever show. Then when I just saw them in Jacksonville they didnt play it, then not last night either. I wonder why?

Not that I've seen Wilco lately, well except streaming from Lollapalooza, but I always keep expecting them to play Hummingbird, but it's not shown up lately. I love that song and can't help dancing around, even at home (and if you know me it's kind of hard for me to do lately :blush) when I hear it. Hope they bring it back on a semi-regular basis... :wub

  7. Yeah, I've only seen them a few times, but one show in particular at First Avenue stands out as one of the best live shows I've attended and the others were still fantastic.

Best show I've ever seen by far, Golden Smog, 400 Bar, 8/7/03. :wub
