  1. I'll have a look for you.... *dons Deer stalker* EDIT: Do you have access to Oink? http://oink.me.uk/details.php?id=744287 EDIT 2: That won't work as it's not being seeded... it's definitely on the UK iTunes... you can play small 30 sec samples of the tracks.
  2. 18th Sept according to the press release... Heard they've very good live, but don't seem to be coming near me...
  3. Yup - that is the one and only time I shall listen to the album... it's a big pile of steaming turd... I'm convinced the second track was done by Gary Glitter back in the 70's... Just to clear the palate then:
  4. New song / video from The Aliens (aka Lone Pigeon from the Beta Band) The Happy Song: Genius!
  5. It's streaming off his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/alberthammondjr Ain't sounding too bad to me... if anything, his single is better than most of the stuff off the last Strokes album......
  6. From The Guardian... Rockumentaries that went wrong Cocksucker Blues (1972) The genre's seedy antecedent trails the Rolling Stones on their 1972 American tour. But the group was so incensed by the portrayal of them as narcissistic, drug-guzzling hedonists that they sued to prevent its release. It remains under a court order to this day. Ramones: End of the Century (2003) Johnny steals Joey's girlfriend, Dee Dee is a junkie and Tommy struggles to keep time and make peace. The Ramones might not have been real brothers, but the fraternal tension is palpable. Metallica: Some Kind
  7. I'll third(?) the motion that I'm liking it more than Love & Theft... there music isn't over the top, it's nicely realised... there's obviously plenty going on but it doens't detract from the songs. On the first couple of tracks I thought Dylan sounded very croaky, but as it goes on its as if his voice mellows and gets into it. Highlights are definitely Rollin' And Tumblin' and Workingmans Blues 2...
  8. The Crane Wife has really worked its way into my head... I've found myself whistling bits in the shower and when I'm working... really great stuff.
  9. hopefully he'll come back to the UK soon enough... *prays for a cambridge date*
  10. I saw it at the Cambridge Film Festival last month - it was brilliant! Best film of the festival for me. It's in equal measures laugh out loud and tears in your eye... great film!
  11. After reading about their gig the other night...
  12. Nice - they're showing the Cardiff v Wasps game on Grandstand... looking forward to that, better let the missus know
  13. Ahh yes... well, I spoke to you on the phone Just couldn't spot you guys at all - could have met Mr. Dowdall 12 months earlier then!
  14. Could be tempted with The Longcut supporting....
  15. Saw this over the weekend: And not sure what to think of it... and I don't think the film knew what it wanted to be either. Johnny Depp was as watchable as ever, and the life and times of the Earl of Rochester are certainly interesting, but this never really held together as a film for me. Nicely made, but the script and storylines were linear but jumped forward too many times without letting the watcher know what happned...
  16. By far my favourite Charlatans album...
