Trying to relive last weekend

Not sure how I feel about this.... I think I'd prefer to see Johnny do some of his own music and concentrate on writing something good. Makes me wonder whether he's all he's cracked up to be... works well as a session guitarist now but has he lost his own ability to write?

Yes, I've picked up Under The Radar a few times... Have you read Plan B? Thats definite left-of-field - I come away from that realising I know nothing about music and I barely dip my toe in the ocean of bands around.... writing not always great, but in terms of opening your mind it's been great.

Cricket on TMS all day... very relaxing...

I remember watching the launch of VH-1... that was quite fun... Ahh, the old days of MTV shows MUSIC not Pimp My Ride and stuff.

Agreed - I bought it the other week as I needed to break in a note at the newsagents and was shocked at how bad it was... the reviews just didn't say anything and the interviews were more about style and haircuts than what the band stood for... but then perhaps that's WHAT the band's in there stand for now... Yeah, I've picked that up a couple of times, not a bad read at all. I'll have to keep my eyes open for it, the Borders in Cambridge sometimes has it.

It's a great album that, can't stop playing it at the moment... For me this morning, just to see what all the fuss it about:

So... since it's "face lift" a couple of months ago UNCUT has gone to the absolute dogs. This month is the worst yet; there's hardly anything in it, the reviews are poorly written and very bland and I've got a feeling this is the last month I'll buy it. Anyone else feeling the same away? I've started buying Harp magazine and stopped buying Mojo years ago as it went through the same problem... Is there now no written music media that's any cop??

Good selection... I picked up the Kinks one recently as well and really liked it. The Lips disc is truely special. Gotan Project isn't upbeat, but perfect chill out stuff. Their new album is good also.

Can I just lambast myself for not having owned these two Dylan records before... I'm a fool...
