owl
Because they're FLAC files (kind of like zip files for music), they probably won't play on your MP3 player, but I'm not sure. Try using this to convert them to WAV: http://cyberial.com/flacinstaller.asp Then, from there, you can convert them to MP3 using iTunes or what you normally use. Here is some more info on FLAC if you're feeling bored: http://flac.sourceforge.net/

mpolak21
I finally picked up How I Quit Smoking after having it on my wishlist for ages and it's incredible. Anyone have any recommendations on where go next? I am going to have to grab that show on owl and the bear as well. --Mike
Ghost Of Bob Cumming
Anyone have any recommendations on where go next? Is A Woman gets my vote. Very laid-back and piano led, excellent. Or possibly that one with the squiggly line drawings cover (What Another Man Spills?). Perhaps controversially, I would leave Nixon until later. It got loads of hype upon release in the UK, but left me a bit cold.

Thanks for the advice (all three of you), I seem to remember writing Nixon down on my list of things to check out (which is slightly shorter than the Bible..). I have one song from Damaged, I think it's The Decline of Country and Western Civilization, it has the lyric about Jim Neighbors in it. Anyway these guys have an amazing sound, I'm happy I finally sought them out. --Mike
Smokestack Joe
listened to Nixon and Is A Woman today for first time. nixon incorporates a lot of sounds/genres...Is A Woman was quite moody, wintry, rainy album full of piano ballads.....i really liked both. "my blue wave" off of is a woman is one of my favorite songs. it can give you a lump in your throat if you don't look out.

mpolak21
Is A Woman is wonderful, I've yet to successfully track down a copy of Nixon, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled. --Mike
Wild Frank
Thought I'd revive this post as I been listening to a lot of Lambchop recently. Also, if you check out their website there is a link to a lovely new Kurt Wagner tune, taken from the 'Mavis' complitation album. It has a grat little video which is on youtube. The songs called 'Gangs of Rome'. The new website is hopefully an indiction of some new material in the pipeline. Their last album (OHio) was good but, in my opinion, not a patch on 'Nixon' or 'Damaged'. 'Damaged' is pretty much my favourite record of all time. I love the deluxe edition with the classical interpretations of some of the tracks. The recent live record (Merge XX) is also worth checking out, especially the version of 'Give It'. Any more love for The 'Chop out there today?

The opening three tracks: 'Daily Growl', 'Cobweb Summer' and 'Blue Wave' are untouchable and an amazing way to start a record.
