markosis
Oh shit! I'll have to make it out to that one. By "Mroom" do you mean Manhattan Room?
nettles
Yep, Manhattan Room, though I think it's officially been abbreviated down to the Mroom.
markosis
I was going to go see The Teeth on the 28th at The Fire, which is like a block away. Maybe I can get a taste of both. I might as well plug The Teeth, great indie band, while Im on the subject. The Teeth

Wilco LP #7
I just caught this tour in Iowa City. Good stuff. The Death Ships put on a very energetic set. Jay was a little...lonely seeming? I can't help but think of how rough things are for him, and it makes watching him play somewhat painful. I reccomend going.
brianjeremy
I just got Jay's new album. I'm digging it. At least it's better than his last album. I wish he were playing somewhere around here. IlliterateLight, how did the new songs come across live?

I reccomend going.I was there too, it was a good show, I left partway through Jay's portion because my girlfriend was feeling sick (she's got strep), but overall I enjoyed it. The Death Ships are great, their singer/songwriter played at Grinnell a couple of weeks ago so I had a chance to talk to him then, and he was a very cool guy. Jay seemed nervous to me, I think that's what came across most, but it was still a good time, from what I caught.

IlliterateLight, how did the new songs come across live? They came across, quite simply, as easy rockers, but good ones at that.
