eDfROMOHIO
I think all this discussion over what was their best album proves one thing: Pavement rocks! Although not Pavement, Malkmus and the Jicks are a great band too. SM, Pig Lib and Face the Truth are all solid. Got a live boot of them at Bonnaroo and there were some new tunes that were cool. SM is getting pretty noodly on guitar, which I like. Can't wait to see what's next for them.
mfwahl
It's hard to pick a favourite Pavement record. For me Slanted and Enchanted and Wowee Zowee are the best two. Matador has done a great job with the reissues. Disc 2 of the Slanted and Enchanted reissue is unbelievable. Watery (Domestic) EP is perfect all the way through; Greenlander is one of their best tracks; and the live show on that disc is unbelievable. Hearing them live is outstanding. It always sounds like none of them individually really know what they're doing but something about them being on the same stage creates a transcendent group sound. They remind me of African or Indian music in that way. Or maybe I've smoked too much grass in my days. P.S. if anyone still needs the live show send a PM
