Blossom
C'mon, pretty please be nice... (Will try thread search if I can figure it out)
cryptique
It's really not hard to figure them out if you listen. The only tricky parts are whether he's saying "what light," "one light," or "white light" at various points. Also, I think it's "stung awake in the night," though it might be "stone awake." RainDogToo
Here found these by doing the thread search! What Light If you feel like singin' a songAnd you want other people to sing alongJust sing what you feelDon't let anyone tell you it's wrong And if you're trying to paint a pictureBut you're not sure what colors belongJust paint what you feelDon't let anyone tell you it's wrong If you're strung out like a kiteOr stuck awake in the nightIt's alright to be frightened When there's a light What light? And there's a lightWhat light? There's a lightWhite lightInside of you If you think you might need somebodyTo pick you up when you dragDon't lose sight of yourselfDon't let anyone change your bag And if the whole world is singing your songsAnd your painting have all been hungJust remember what was your Is everyone's from now on And that's not wrong or rightBut you can struggle with it all you likeYou don't have to get uptight When there's a lightWhat light? There's a lightWhat light? There's a lightWhite lightThere's a light White lightThere's a lightOne lightThere's a light White lightThere's a light One lightThere's a light White lightThere's a lightOne LightThere's a lightWhite light There's a lightOne light inside of you There's a lightWhite lightThere's a light White lightThere's a light White lightThere's a lightOne light

quarter23cd
Also, I think it's "stung awake in the night," though it might be "stone awake."I think it is "stone awake". That sounds cooler to me, anyway. Can anyone confirm for me, in On & On & On, is he saying "we'll stay together YET" or "we'll stay together YEAH". This could impact my whole appreciation for the song. Up until the album version of the song, I always heard it as "yeah" on the live recordings and I always thought that was absolutely horrible. You should never end a line with "yeah" unless you are totally rocking out and need that extra guttural exclamation point at the end to demonstrate how hard you are rocking out. Otherwise it just sounds silly.

That sounds cooler to me, anyway.I'm not 100% sure, but on the solo recording I listened to earlier it sounds more like "stung." quarter23cd
Also: you got something against "She Loves You"? Well, at least that song rocks harder than On & On & On, so I'll let it slide...this time.

The lyrics to Sky Blue Sky were provided by the band. But maybe they got their own lyrics wrong.
froggie
> Just sing what you feel. Don't let anyone say it's wrong. nah, its "just sing what you heeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaar, dont let anyone say it's wrong"

Fair enough. edit: however, it's not uncommon for lyrics to evolve from one day to the next. It kinda sounds like it could be either one to me, but it also reminds me of the theme music to one of the daytime soaps (Days of Our Lives maybe?) so what do I know? The lyrics for Walken changed a bit from the beginning until the later shows and now the record. However, I guess this would be expected as they played it for over a year before recording.
