owl
I heard this from a friend, and I would have loved to have had this on the new LP along with "Is That the Thanks I Get". Either of these tracks can replace any of the final 8 tracks on the LP. Jeff, I never thought I'd say this to anyone, but ime to get back on the drugs. One love. Bye bye now. danelectro
These threads are so predictable, the same thing happened with AGIB. It was leaked and people were saying it was demos, same thing with SBS. The album finally gets released and people were lamenting the absense of Panthers then it turns up on the EP. Sound familiar yet? People were also griping that AGIB was a HUGE letdown as the followup to YHF, yep SBS certainly fits the bill there. Then before you know it the tour starts and people started to bond with the songs in their live form saying stuff like "the songs sound better live", look for these threads in the near future. Nest thing you know AGIB was the greatest thing since sliced bread. This will happen with SBS too then the torch will be passed to it's followup.
bobbob1313
I'm a YHF hop on person....

Jeff said the same thing at the Vic show in April. Something like "It happens with every record. They'll say (he uses a pretentious critic voice ) They'll never make another record like Sky Blue Sky."
Sir Stewart
Listened to it first time a few minutes ago, and won't give it a second listen. Guess that says it all.D - your sig is a SBS reference, as is your "from" line. You're obviously a fan of the album, and Wilco (for years), and yet you wouldn't give "One True Vine" a second listen? Duck Ghost
I like the songs "New Madrid" and "James Alley Blues". They should've re-recorded both those songs with Nels Cline going OFF and like, Glenn bangin' on some crazy drums, and yeah... like, put both of them on SBS, ya know? They are, like, 76.32% better than all the songs on SBS. So, who cares one's a UT song and the other is a cover. We all know that (obviously) and it's like, sooooo much better than "Impossible Jeremy" or that one song about walking around or something... or whatever, Wilco is better on drugs man. Like, duh?! Roll me unda' James Alley!
caliber66
I think "One True Vine" is a very pretty song, and perhaps (subjectively speaking, of course) better than a track or two from SBS, but I'm not sure it has a place on the album...

I just checked, and you're right, it doesn't have a place on the album.
