Whitty
I have a hard time considering bands from the English-speaking world as "foreign" to my ears. You don't exactly say "Oooohh, how exotic!" when listening to The Rolling Stones or The New Pornographers or whoever. I'd say artists like Dengue Fever, Gogol Bordello, and Fela Kuti are probably more along the lines of music I enjoy and would consider "foreign". Nice to see a mention of The Pillows, too! OOO
The definition of "foreign" is not really a subject of much debate. It means "of, pertaining to, or derived from another country or nation; not native." So in the context of this thread, your feelings are irrelevant.

The original poster asked the question and then listed British bands, so he obviously meant "foreign" in the sense of from another country. So now we know a lot of people like Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Arcade Fire. I'm glad I've finally learned that.

Yeah I know, but I'd rather just complain in this thread, if that's ok. It's easier than starting a new thread. Just like it's easier to stick with music from the US, UK and Canada than it is to check out music from other parts of the world. Actually, I don't really mean to complain. I'm just disappointed that this thread which I thought had so much promise has turned into such a dud.
