Sir Stewart
Only after I opened it to post that - your last post closed it! I take it that wasn't on purpose then? (see the SP 'Zeitgeist' thread - same thing there)

Sir Stewart Opened Topic Today, 09:14 AMSir Stewart Locked Topic Yesterday, 04:09 PMSir Stewart Opened Topic Yesterday, 04:08 PMWendy Altered topic state (opened/closed) from forum view Jul 14 2007, 10:57 PM I blame Prince. And Billy Corgan. No, I'm pretty sure you blame me. This whole thing is weird - I was at Pitchfork in Chicago on July 14 and did not arrive home until midnight. But this could be time zone discrepancy. I did check the board when I got home, like I always do. At any rate, this could be due to a random feature unbeknownst to me that when (if moderator status) you are at the forum index, one click on the envelope at the left (the colored ones) -- LOCKS a thread. Who knew? So the obviously randomly selected locking of those two threads could have happened with a stray mouse pointer click. I apologize for that. There is record of me "testing" that feature because I wasn't believing my eyes when that teeny move actually locked a thread. So I'd like to claim my innocence as a nazi thread closer, but perhaps I should seek legal counsel? We could have handled this in PMs, too. Sir Stewart, did you PM Kyle and ask him why (it appeared) HE closed those two threads he posted in? Because when I saw them closed, I too wondered why they were locked and sent him a PM asking on your behalf.
Sir Stewart
I thought he had closed it - I never accused you of anything and I'm done with this. Thanks.

bobbob1313
Uh, I'm not sure what chart you speak of but I could not find that stat. However, some other chart toppers you could put with the pumpkins are: T.I., Rhianna, Fantashia, Big and Rich, Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry. Good point. I was mostly replying to your statement that nobody cares about the Pumpkins. They may suck, but a lot of people care about them still.
Analogman
My Way or Norway: Prince Sues to Obliterate Tribute AlbumBy Eliot Van Buskirk EmailJune 25, 2008 | 3:35:36 PMCategories: Digital Music News, Getting Artists Paid, Music News, Music Tools Prince Fifty artists who recorded Prince covers in honor of His Purpleness' 50th birthday June 7 have been slapped with a lawsuit by the short-tempered star. His lawyers now demand that all copies of the tribute be destroyed. Shockadelica had reached No. 8 on Norway's album charts and received several popular reviews by the Norwegian press. It's perfectly legal to record and sell cover songs of someone else's material, so long as you pay the compulsory licensing fee of about 10 cents per song. To sell their five-disc set of 81 Prince cover songs, they would have to remit around $8 per unit sold to Prince, under a compulsory mechanical license. Norway's C+C Records distributed 5,000 of the box sets starting earlier this month, plus digital versions, and claim that no one made any money from the project. As a result, they didn't think they owed Prince anything except maybe a free copy. C+C Records owner and Prince fan Christer Falck contacted the Purple One's people to try to send one to Prince, and that's when the trouble began, according to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet (re-reported in Daily Swarm), one of many publications to post positive reviews of the collection. For now, all 81 songs can be previewed free on C+C Records' website, and some are also available on MySpace in streamable medley form. When this giveaway first began, there were 5,000 copies of the compilation in circulation. Thanks to Prince's lawsuit and the publicity it will generate, we expect that number to balloon significantly in the coming weeks.
stooka
what is the deal with not carrying the Pumpkins. Best Buy/target/starbucks/Mcdonalds exclusive? Prolly because the Pumpkins suck and no one cares about them?........I'm just throwing that out there as a guess. Wasn't it, like the #1 selling album of the week? Good point. Uh, I'm not sure what chart you speak of but I could not find that stat. However, some other chart toppers you could put with the pumpkins are: T.I., Rhianna, Fantashia, Big and Rich, Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry. Good point. Prince called me and said that ya'll should take this discussion over to the "Bands With Only One Good Album" thread, where it belongs. Obviously, I'm raggin' on the pumpkins....NOT Prince. Sorry, i had to get that out. Carry on..................
