holweger
My band (Western Fifth - from Minneapolis) is playing at the Horseshoe BBQ next Thursday night. I don't know much about it, other than it is apparently a "Texas BBQ joint with live music" and typically has country-rock type bands. Any people in the Chicago area know anything about it? also, if you're not too busy attending Lollapalooza, come on by Thursday night.
SquashedFrog
It's decent. Really small place south of Lincoln Square. It's not really a "tour stop" sorta place like Schubas and Empty Bottle, but it get's local, newer bands. It's only about 5-6 years old, but it was pre-fabbed to look like a "dive bar". dannygutters
they used to have quarter beer on tuesdays. But then got shut down for operating on an expired liquor licence. I guess the're open again.

Yeah It felt like i was in college again. They weren't normal 12oz cups tho, probabaly 6-8oz, but a tray of 20 for $5 was a nice sight...

myboyblue
I've been there a couple of times and it seemed decent. They used to have one of the more gorgeous bartenders in the city... not sure if she's still there.
Dr. Steve Brule
They have reopened... new management I believe. One of the bartenders dropped some flyers by the store. Post a reminder about next Thursday next week and I will try and swing by after work. Likewise if you can make your way a few blocks up Lincoln, you can come visit a real live thriving indie record store at 4639 N Lincoln!
LouieB
I had dinner there one time about a year ago and my son and I were the only people there. I suppose it could be an okay place (the atmosphere was nice enough, in a honky tonk kind of way.) There is alot of competition now on this stretch of Lincoln Ave to say the least. Needless to say a trip to Lauries is always in order...... LouieB

Thanks for letting me know about the store; we're always looking for places like that when we play in other cities...sometimes they're hard to find.
