JerseyMike
Gretsh is great if you can afford it...Epiphone is basically Korean Gibson and I love Epi's. With a few minor adjustments you can get a great gtr for a low price. Hofners are cheap, but if you want that McCartney bass!
Gobias Industries
I would only get Hofner basses, personally. If you want the early Beatles, get a Gretsch, if you want mid-Beatles I'd suggest an Epiphone Casino.
sean Patrick
where are hofners cheap? ill go live there (they are the best, i think)i have a hofner hollowbody from the 60's. amazing. its better than a 335 in my opinion.i have an old gretsch too, its fun, kind of boring sound though.and i have an old epi acoustic. jumbo. its great. Twisted Acres
I adore my Gretsch 6120. It can be a bit moody onstage but is a necessary tool for certain tones; it's amazing on recordings. Anything I've owned from Epiphone is basically a foreign-made Gibson as previously mentioned (never liked the feel of them)
Guest Left Arm Tan
just bought a nice hollow body Epiphone last week and i'm lovin' its feel.
So Long
I've got an Epiphone (John Lennon model) and a Hofner (Paul McCartney model) I love them both dearly.
Jesusetc84
I've got an Epiphone Casino, and I love the hell out of it. I generally just walk around the house with it strapped on.
