GtrPlyr
I've had a few bootlegs of this material over the years so it was great to finally get a proper release. Overall I'm quite happy with the whole package: wonderful sound and liner notes. The one misstep is the inclusion of the Taylor Hawkins cover like Joss mentioned. Cover songs like this should be left for tribute records. Not a big deal, just a slight annoyance. And talking about price, I picked this up at an indie for $24.99 Canadian. bigideas
I finally got to listen to it this morning. Most of the songs sound like they just faded them out in the middle - i.e. they sound incomplete almost - as if he wanted to make his songs fit the 60's time format (most songs between 2-3 mins) when they really needed to be longer. I was really surprised at how big the arrangements were.I'm wondering how much Dennis was responsible or how much help he got from his brothers.
