mkaycomputer
Is there a reason why wilco avoids new york city like the plague? theyre going to new haven for crying out loud. or am i wrong and is an nyc gig in the books...
bjorn_skurj
They've played in the city before. Saw them at Radio City in '04; the first of two nights there. It's not like a band can say, "We would like to play here," and it happens. Venues and promoters have to cooperate.

Jimbo Jones
ManhattanBrooklynRed Bank, NJ NYC area gets Wilco love. They did play Manhattan and Brooklyn in June. However, that was the first time since NYE 2004. I can understand some people wondering if the band enjoys playing here. Considering every show is a guaranteed sell out and the wide array of venues, I don't think booking shows here would be a problem.
bböp
Is there a reason why wilco avoids new york city like the plague? theyre going to new haven for crying out loud. or am i wrong and is an nyc gig in the books... could be worse-you could be in philly. not that i have any great love for philly, but I believe the show there next month will be the band's first in those parts in almost three years. the band itself doesn't have much to do with where specifically they're going to play, anyway. i mean, if they wanted to line up a new york gig (or anywhere else), they could obviously, but i believe that the intent of the february run is to mostly hit some places they haven't yet behind sky blue sky. bobbob1313
Wilco hasn't played a non-festival show in South Florida since Feb 17, 2005.

bjorn_skurj
I wish they would play in Poughkeepsie again, specifically at this venue: http://www.bardavon.org/

Wilco hasn't played a non-festival show in South Florida since Feb 17, 2005. bobbob, my sister was at that show, she was big and pregnant, but joined the stampede to the front! mkaycomputer
they were here last June. i saw them then. jeff said something like "we havent played here in a while" at the hammerstein show. its just sort of aggravating when they play an east coast tour and skip right over new york city. you think they'll play vineland?
