watch me fall
Fox Eyeing 'Family Guy' Spinoff for Cleveland (FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER)
Griddles
Personally I do not really care for Family Guy in the first place, and Cleveland seems like the least developed of the minor characters so a show about him really does not make sense to me.
Sir Stewart
No spinoff for Quagmire?

lamradio
Family guy is the funniest animated series ever (next to The Simpsons) and I would be willing to check it out. But I agree that it's kind of strange to choose Cleveland..
Sir Stewart
Of course knowing the Family Guy, Cleveland could be an inspired choice.
Tweedy's Gurl
family guy used to be a pretty good show. now it is simply a disconnect of obscure reference and intentionally offensive 'jokes'. i stopped watching it a while ago and i can't believe they are doing a spinoff when they are already stretching for material. Sir Stewart
That Stewie-killing-his-mom-and-taking-over-the-country storyline/execution was fantastic.
Mrs. Peel
I think I'd get tired of Cleveland's voice very quickly if he were a main character.
Sir Stewart
I read that in Cleveland's voice and it sounded perfect. I think because he'd agree.
ikol
Would this one be written by the same manatees that write Family Guy?

Welsh Rich
No spinoff for Quagmire? Now that WOULD be worth watching... if a little disturbing...

Lammycat
No spinoff for Quagmire? My first thought, too. Definitely a highlight of the show, no matter which episode. One of my favorite lines from the show is Quagmire piloting a plane and doing the extended "uhhhh...." over the intercom. His voice is slow and low like a typical pilot's on the speaker and he gets to the weather: "...the temperature in Atlanta is sixty-four degrees, uhhhhhhhhhh the flight is gonna be a little longer than we've expected, uh we've got some very strong head winds, (giggity). " The "giggity" is tossed in almost as if he's obligated to say it; as an aside. It's stupid but for some reason it cracks me up every time I hear it. The timing of it, with the slight pause, is an example of what makes the show fantastic.
Scalzunfield
Family guy is the funniest animated series ever (next to The Simpsons) The Simpsons should have been off the air roughly 10 years ago. I don't even try with it anymore. Now, that said, believe the Simpsons to be a HUGE influence on the current animated shows on television. However, the order for me is as follows:1-South Park2-Family Guy3-Aqua Teen4-Spongebob The Simpsons could come in at #5 but I'm sure I could dig up a few more I'd rank higher. Mrs. Peel
I'm still soaking in all the Futurama I can get. That's my favorite animated show of the last 10 years.
jakobnicholas
South Park. Awesome. Simpsons. Stale but still moments of brilliance. Spongebob. So creative and so damn universally funny. Family Guy. I've never got it....the type of humor doesn't work for me.

I agree with Spongebob and Simpsons, though. And I've never seen South Park.

I agree with Spongebob and Simpsons, though. And I've never seen South Park. I think Family Guy is funny at times, but it's way too over-the-top, hit-you-upside-the-head funny. Generally, subtlety is lacking, which I like in humor. My best analogy would be comparing Saturday Night Live to Mad TV. Mad TV isn't horrible, but I rarely find the show genuinely funny. I think some of the humor is juvenile at times, but some of it is Drnnis Miller-esque at times, too. It runs the gamut, imo. In general, I dislike dumbed-down and mindless humor. Sir Stewart
What I love about Family Guy are the vocal performances - when they stutter, or stop and think with an "umm" or "ahh" it's always perfect. I'm particularly thinking of Peter & Stewie.
lamradio
I love all of the Star Wars references. In the making of "Blue Harvest", they talk about how all of the writers are huge Star Wars geeks.. When they first started using the Star Wars bits in their episodes, they would do them without permission. Well eventually, it dawned on them "I hope Lucas Arts doesn't sue us".. They asked permission, and Lucas was totally cool with it and loved the bits.. So they made an entire episode (Blue Harvest).. A must own DVD for all Family Guy fans..
