TCP
If I use a word in the search function that is 3 letters or less it gives me an error. This makings searching for tabs for a song like "Gun" somewhat hard. Is this how it's suppose to be?
Analogman
Yes, you have to use four or more. Try using a phrase from the song.
cryptique
That's a pretty common restriction on search engines. I don't much like it. On a slightly related subject, yesterday I signed up for something online and they wouldn't accept a first name that was less than three letters (I tried to give only my initial). I know at least three people whose full first names are two letters. What the hell are they supposed to do?
yermom
I've been to forums where the minimum number of letters allowed in a searched word was five. That's just plain crazy.
solace
the restriction is due to the processing and memory requests of indexing and searching every single word on a forum. 3 is pretty common and the default for most board software the lower you go, the more power and database size it takes up.
