Start reading at Isadorah's post and you can get a good idea...

It was a Nasty crowd up there in the balcony. Capital N, Nasty.

Wow, sorry you guys had such a bad experience. I don't blame you for not wanting to go back there.

I'm looking for places to eat/drink before the show but as for actual tailgating (like in the parking lot), probably not.

Lucky 32, Danny's BBQ is right there...

Hibernanian Pub isn't too far away...Carraba's and also there's a great Mexican place called Chipolte Grill.

Yes sir. The first two are right off Tryon.

I'm assuming you'll be taking 1/64 to Koka booth. You'll get off right on Tryon road.

If you pass Koka Booth there's a bunch of restaurants right there on Tryon. If you keep going you'll hit Kildaire Farm Road.

Make a left, go about a mile and pass Cary Parkway...there will be a bunch more restaurants down there as well.

Not far at all.

I'm not exactly sure. I'll be coming from Florence SC, which means I-95 to I-40. After that, I don't know. I haven't gotten so far as to figure out how to get there yet. I'm more concerned with eating/drinking first. :lol

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hibernian is an excellent restaurant/ Euro-styled pub, guess its supposed to be Irish. They serve an excellent Reuben sandwich I could eat every day of the week. sadly, there's really not much to do around here, the night life is next to non-existent. we do have a Walmart with a McDonald's in it next to Kokoa Booth/ Regency Park if anyone wants to meet up there for a Big Mac and Diet Coke! :thumbup

Hmm I'm thinking we may have to try this Hibernian place.

Just booked the Best Western within walking distance of the venue. I'll be there with my girlfriend, Annette. Also Courtney/ Magazine Called Sunset will be at the same hotel all the way from Chicago. Keep us posted if there are any eating plans pre-show. Take care, Greg

Junebug,

I'm guessing Chipotle has obtained all the necessary ABC permits by now... but didn't want to assume anything. I had lunch there when they first opened. Can you confirm if they serve alcohol there now?

Looks like some folks have hijacked the song request website:

from Wilcoworld:

Top Ten Requests for 2008-08-08 Cary, NC - Koka Booth Amphitheatre

Misunderstood

Sunken Treasure

Cars Can't Escape

Less Than You Think

Poor Places

More Like the Moon

Why would you wanna live

At Least That's What You Said

Remember the Mountain Bed

Wishful Thinking

Jeez louise, just when I thought I'd actually get to hear "Dreamer in my Dreams" again, someone or something had to go throw a turd in the punch bowl. :stunned

Vote early and often.

Kevin
