Wilco 8.04.08 Indianapolis, IN

Recommended Posts

On an even better note, it was our son's first Wilco show. In fact, it was his first concert ever. He's 2.

I saw you guys. Your 2 YO was having a better time than the 2 YO in the 4th row next to me. He kinda lost it as the main set was winding down. Your little guy seemed to be lovin it.

Yes, badu2fan, I think Wilco generally allows small camera's, and this venue didn't seem to have issues with it. I put some pics up on the web here. Some better than others...

(ed: not as nice as Keith's...)

I talked to the taper on Pat's side in about row 6 or 7. He said he'd post here on the board when he has it.

Happening, sorry I missed meeting you. Next time. I'm ready to do it all over again!

I heard from MB that Elwood was well represented... :stunned

We saw that 2 YO as well. We were almost shocked our guy made it through without a major fuss, to be honest. He's a really well mannered kid, but 2 1/2 hours is a lot for someone his age. The Wilco gods must have said there was no way our front row experience was going to get ruined on that night.

He almost made it through the whole show, but crashed during the 2nd encore. I thought I overheard him say, "Wake me up if they play California Stars" or something like that...

Yeah, I only ended up seeing a handful of people I knew even though I knew there were many more of you out there. Next time it will have to be! :cheers

Indianapolis rocks. We were better at keeping the rhythm clapping for Spiders than the Lollapalooza crowd? Ha! Take that, Chicago :pirate !

And don't forget Wilco's last visit in Indy at the Murat when the audience participated with its own "shake-it-off (whooo!) - shake-it-off (whooo!) - shake-it-off (whooo!) :lol Indianapolis is funny!

Great seeing so many Wilco friends from the region, and wonderful to meet "ashtray" ( :wave @ Vince ) on his birthday weekend.

Cool poster, Johnny :wub

Fun, fun sweaty show.

I was standing right next to you for the infamous "WHOOOO" episode and if you'll remember correctly Tweedy's response was, "Whooo, huh? I don't like it." You'll notice that we were not blessed with "Shake It Off" on Monday...I'm just sayin'... ;)

I recall the "Whoo" episode at the Murat as well...and I thought Tweedy and the band's response was with tongue held firmly in cheek. Generally, I think the band enjoys their Indianapolis stops...crowds are generally enthusiastic and knowledgable. I recall a show (also at the Murat) some time back as a benefit for Riley's Children's Hospital and it was an incredible show...one of the best I have seen from them. I would go so far to say that outside of the Chicago shows I have seen, the Indy shows (in general) are among the best I see each year.

:lol (Hi Jason!)

That was still, in my mind, one of the funniest concert moments ever. I think I have to listen to that again. *tries to dig up the audience recording from June 15, 2007* Yeah, it was very tongue-in-cheek, he sure seems to have a good time playing with his audience these days. :)
