SarahC
I caught Blue Mountain last night at Rock Point Books (yes, a book store) downtown. It was an interesting setting for some very awesome music. Blue Mountain played a few weeks ago at the live outdoor series we have, and it was just as good as last night's performance. They played two 45 minute sets, though I think the last one went a tad bit longer because they did a few more songs. I was very impressed, and Cary Hudson is pretty much my hero. That guy can play some awesome guitar!! Here are the songs I can remember them playing: WinkJimmy Carter Blue Canoe Bloody 98Myrna LeeSoul SisterLakesideWhen You're Not Mine Snow In Mississippi Groove Me 70's SongBy Your SideShe's A Wild OneButterfly Free State of JonesI'll Fly AwayPoppaand 2 songs that I have no idea what they were It was such a fun night, and Cary and Laurie are so nice. I really would go see them if they are playing near you!

DawgSong
Well %^$# ! How did I not hear of this? Sarah, I moved up on that mountain looking down on ya a few months ago. Spending a ton of time catching shows in Chatt now.I too went to Nightfall and thought the band was in great form. I also dig the new album. We had reunion like affair at the showas a bunch of my old tour day friends showed up. Twas fun. I had no idea they play this 2nd show. Man ! Hope all is well. Yell my way when/if you ever play around town. Oh, just a thought for you. New management at the Lookout Mountain Cafe is looking for acoustic solo or outfits to play their patio. Few weekends ago they had a young gal from UTC play there.Check into it if ya think.

There were probably only 5-6 people (out of the maybe 50-70 in attendance) who knew who the band was. It was really bizarre, but very cool. No shows right now, however, after the gig I was talking to Laurie and she said they usually use local bands to open their shows, and the next time they're in town she asked if i would be interested! I am trying to get a gig at a place on the North Shore called the River House in a few weeks, I'll let you know if it pans out. I lost my capo when I played in Athens, so I have to get a new one before I can play again...
