jcroach
Hey does anyone have any material from this Jay Bennet, John Stiratt and ken coomer collaberation? You can find some info here:http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=34178 # Courtesy Move – Courtesy Move was a side project of Jay Bennett, Ken Coomer and John Stirratt. The recorded an album in 1996 that was never released. Buy from iTunes * "Sherry Rich and Courtesy Move" CD; Buy from sherryrich.com, One track, Polite Kisses, available for purchase on her MySpace page

I've heard "These I'll Provide" and "California" and they're not too bad, but I've never heard of anyone having heard a leak of copy of the "album" if there ever really was a completed album. joshead
Ken Coomer and John Stiratt also back up Jay Bennett on "It's Hard" and "Let Count Our Losses" from Jay's "Bigger Than Blue." The liner notes on those tracks say 'Produced by The Courtesy Move.'
jcroach
Ken Coomer and John Stiratt also back up Jay Bennett on "It's Hard" and "Let Count Our Losses" from Jay's "Bigger Than Blue." The liner notes on those tracks say 'Produced by The Courtesy Move.' Did they "back up" Jay or did he just recycle the original Courtesy Move tracks and add some additional recordings to them? I was always under the impression it was the latter.

I assumed since it was a Ken,Jay, and John track that it might be considered a Courtesy Move song.

joshead
Does that mean it isnt a Courtesy Move song?
jcroach
Does that mean it isnt a Courtesy Move song? It's probably not in the original form it had during the Courtesy Move sessions. My guess is that Jay, Ken and John all wrote songs for Courtesy move, or at least John and Jay. These songs were likely two that Jay wrote for the 1996 sessions and then took the recorded tracks and embellished them some for his album. I wasn't disputing that this was a Courtesy Move song, just that Courtesy Move didn't "back up" Jay while recording Bigger than Blue in 2004.
