DAngerer09
Woo hoo! Can't wait for this From Stereogum: New Jim O'Rouke LP Coming • The noise wrangler and sometime pop balladeer who brought Wilco and Sonic Youth to new creative peaks before decamping to Japan returns to song-based solo material with Visitors (Drag City, 9/8). Last year he promised "pretty much everyone is going to be disappointed" by it. Unlikely. From PitchforK: According to the label, the record is more song-oriented than his excursions into avant-electronics (see: stuff like 2001's I'm Happy, and I'm Singing, and a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 2007's collaboration with Merzbow and Carlos Giffoni, Electric Dress). It's apparently more in line with O'Rourke's somber instrumental LP Bad Timing than his sly pop records, Eureka and Insignificance.

So Long
I'm about 15 minutes in... I'm assuming this one's a grower. I was really hoping for some lyrics.
larrylove
I got it last week, have been listening to it over the last few days, it's one, long, instrumental composition. I think it's pretty good.
mpolak21
Woah, I'm really loving this one. It's like he took every instrumental piece of his I love and combined them all into one track. Might be my favorite album of the year thus far. --Mike
