AJ673
It's just annoying a little because my husband and I have such different musical tastes - lately he's into jazz like Ken Vandermark. Wilco is really the only band we both like. Which brings me to another question - do any other couples out there have his and hers music collections? (Or as my husband calls it the good and the bad)...
sweetheart-mine
I had laproscopic surgery on my knee today and while other will be outside enjoying the three day weekend, I'll be inside hepped up on VicodinSo, based on this thread and that heard Jeff likes cross-word puzzles, I thought I might try a simple,amatuer-hand at designing a Wilco T-Shirt. Nothing fancy, but I thought this might be a great design for the non-wilco lover to purchase for their spouse. I think I will print this out on one of those iron-on paper sheets and steam it on and old shirt. Attached is a couple examples in some different fonts. ha, excellent! certainly reflects me, for one, and clearly i'm far from alone. my husband will be calling you. rwilson580
My wife will let me listen to anything as long as its not Tom Waits!! My youngest son (3yr old)loves a bit of Wilco and is forever shouting "Wilco we love you baby"!! Strangly, both my young boys love Tom Waits and will do 'Tom Waits' dancing when I put on 'Bone Machine' or 'Real Gone'. Real Gone rules. Totally underrated Waits album. The boys aren't into Rain Dogs or Swordfishtrombone? FWIW -- Steely Dan has been my favorite band since the mid 70's. Nobody else ever came close. Until Waits made a run a few years back. Just when he was about to make things interesting, I encountered this other band based in Chicago, and I've listened to little else the last few years. Can barely remember some of those Waits tunes now. Great stuff, though. The running tally is now... Wilco...Steely Dan...Tom Waits...King Crimson...everybody else. AJ673
My five year old, while watching the Ashes DVD, asked why Wilco travels on a bus. So I said they need to travel from town to town in order to play shows to make money. So she decided to that she was going to make Wilco a box, and she was going to colour it and fill it with money for them so they wouldn't have to travel so much. AJ673
My two year old thinks the absolute funniest thing in the world is when the girl throws her bra onstage during Heavy Metal Drummer - he runs up to the TV and points at it and laughs hysterically. Sometimes I'll ask him what movie he wants to watch (they have many!) and he'll say "I Nilco mommy". So my kids are on board but my husband isn't so much anymore. Maybe because it's not just "his" thing anymore...
Wild Frank
Real Gone rules. Totally underrated Waits album. The boys aren't into Rain Dogs or Swordfishtrombone? Real Gone is amazing. It didn't seem to get much praise when it came out but its great. Rain Dogs is my favourite Tom album but the boys do love 'Underground' off Swordfish...Its a great song for stomping about pretending to be a monster!!.
