sureshot
I'll go with Local H They had a huge single "Bound For The Floor" but that was about it. I still stand by the fact that they are one of the most underrated bands of all time and put on one of the most intense live shows I've ever seen. Yea, I've seen them 7 or 8 times. It seems like they've always got a show going on in Chicago. Actually, they've gotten some real nice acclaim as of late with the past couple releases. Scott Lucas was named a "Chicagoan of the Year" by the Trib in '08, which I doubt even he expected.
PopTodd
Whilst I am not from Vancouver, if there is anyone here who is from that beautiful city, I have fallen in love with a band of yours whom I think will qualify for this topic: ©(aka - "Circle C"; aka - "Copyright") Any of you Canucks remember them? I now own both the self-titled, and "Love Story" and love them both. Heard about them from a guy on another board who is from Vancouver. But I wanted to bring it out here.Hence the reviving of this old thread. This one is from Love Story:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7-ttcUe4zA&feature=related Very 90's, I know, but I think that it still holds up pretty well.
bigshoulders
HobexI saw them a few times, back in the day.Patty Hurst Shifter is another band that I'd term as local heroes. My friend Johnny Williams used to play bass for them but he's no longer with the band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klAguIzA8nM&feature=related

dark
Back in my youth and since I am old it was quite a while ago "early 1970's) there was a local band named R. Peepers .. they were amazing and just about the time they were going to be signed they broke up ... anyway the lead guitarist is now in prison for the rest of his life .. but damn they were good. Hmmm, can't say I remember this band. Sorry, PopTodd. These guys were pretty big in Vancouver and BC during the late '80s/early '90s. (They didn't do too badly in some of the other provinces either, I think.)
