DrNo
If you ever get a chance to see The Hag take it. Sure, he's getting up there, but for the most part he's still got it. 32 songs over nearly two hours=not bad for a pair of 73-year-olds. Check out my full review here. Sounds like a bit of a geezer fest, but those two have written some great songs over the years. I actually read a pretty interesting longer feature on the Hag fairly recently in, of all places, Rolling Stone. I think I'm generally in a bit of an "old school country" mode after seeing Crazy Heart recently (not that either of these guys would be playing bowling alleys anytime soon, though I'm sure they do play their fair share of casinos). M. (hristine
My mom had the hots for Kristofferson for as long as I can remember. We listened to him a lot. I suppose I never had a chance. It was uncanny how Jeff Bridges seemed to channel Kristofferson in Crazy Heart. Two of the best songwriters of any genre in the last 50 years. Nice piece. Thanks for sharing. LouieB
Saw Hag open for Dylan a few years back. He is certainly one of the last of the great old classic country singers. Crazy Heart is a great movie. LouieB
