There is not a half million undocumented Irishman running around Arizona.

But due to high illegal immigration from our southern friends, Arizona is having problems with Drug trafficking (not just teenagers but Drug Cartels), kidnappings (second highest in the world - only second to um Mexico City) home invasions.

Sure, which is why anyone who looks like he or she might be Mexican would want to stay the hell out of Arizona until this blows over. Why risk a hassle and ending up like Cheech in Born in East L.A.? While it is all very nice to say that those who are in the country legally have nothing to fear, we all know the system is subject to breakdowns, abuse and plain old not working like it should. Personally, I would not want the hassle. I am a white dude, though not blond and blue-eyed, so I suppose I would be OK, but what would happen if I started to speak French on the streets of Tuscon and a cop overheard? What if I did not have my papers on me and the cop thought I was a frog or a Queeb who snuck in? Next thing I know, I'm in shackles and on a flight to either Paris or Montreal? What the hell would I do then?

You guys and fucking citations

Fuck, you bleeding hearts ever hear of Google?

Been Googling all day, thanks, and I haven't found anything in the CFR that states what you assert it states (even paged through it by hand!), and haven't found any evidence to support your kidnapping facts either.

It's not that we're not looking, we're just not finding what you're saying. ;) Surely you wouldn't throw around facts if you couldn't back them up though, so I'll just wait.

Stop using your imagination and you might be able to sleep at night.

Never said those that are here legally have nothing to fear. In fact my biggest fear about this law is how it will affect US citizens.

This post was a waste of time.

You just proved that you are a liar. Thanks for playing.

Really Napalm?

Did you read that posters comment about being taken to France because he spoke French in Arizona?

I said I was looking, and could not find the facts that you asserted. That was a truthful statement, no? What did I lie about?

My imagination is more or less on non-stop, and is always taking me places. Hopefully one day it will have me deported to Sweden.

Type 'Kidnappings in Arizona' into Google.

Oh! So I wasn't lying! Thanks. :yes Would you like to actually say that to me, "Napalm, you weren't lying" out of courtesy? I didn't type that in because I feared I would get to statistics that were biased - I was looking for something that ranked global stastics of kidnappings so I could get an overall look at the picture.

I eagerly await your apology, and two citations. :)

:mellow That's not an apology from anywhere I come from. You've called, what, three people liars in this thread? And you're the only one witholding information as far as I can tell. Not lying mind you (as I don't throw out hyperbolic accusations like that), you're just being highly evasive.

If you won't answer my questions or apologize to me, would you like to explain to me why you won't answer my questions or apologize to me?

Google results. Sites like nationalterroralert.com and politicalvindication.com don't inspire feelings of accuracy or assurance in me. The first hit claims what you claim, the second hit refutes what you claim (latina.com), and as someone with an interested in unbiased research, neither really strike me as something I'd be willing to put my weight behind.

Thank you. :)

Again, makes you wonder how they determine in the first place that anyone ever lacks that documentation. I didn't know it was anywhere in the code, and I can tell you its nowhere on any receipt, I-94 card or notice from the Service. I know someone was stopped over the weekend in a border state because they lacked ID, but simply the fact that it made its way through the grapevine like that tells you how often its enforced.

Just goes to show you that there's a lot more to complete immigration reform than any questions about amnesty. Don't even get me started on the Service's use of double negatives.

ETA: Oops, keep looking: that one just refers to green cards.

Apparently your research skills are lacking.
