I'm not familiar with Jay Bennett's vision (would be interested to see it).

 

I don't use this as a substiture for the original. I use it as an addendum...for those days when I need to hear it with a slightly different take. (Sometimes I put "Let Me Come Home" right before "Reservations"...but that is REALLY raw emotionally.

 

Bennett was dead set that Cars Can't Escape, Magazine, and Venus should be on the final album. Great guy, but Jeff had his eye on his message, and YHF brings it. That said, I made a disc with all of these songs in the order Crow had and it is a great album. Seriously would have held its own as a stand alone. Great choices.

Well Mr. Cranky, I don't propose it as a replacement...it is only a variation.

Having listened to YHF probably 1000 times over the years, I sometimes like to hear it with a different perspective.

 

That's all.

 

It's not like I proposed painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa or writing a different ending to Romeo and Juliet. I just sometimes listen to a handful of songs added to to YHF.
