mia2000
Going to Minneapolis tonight - can anyone who went to the IA show enlighten me on set times (doors/Lowe/Wilco)?
REH
Hmmm, most of the shows I've seen on this tour start pretty close to on-time, Nick plays for about 40 minutes, then probably half an hour between, then roughly about 2 1/4 hours for Wilco. Does that seem right to everyone? I might be a little off. (Most places I've been have noise ordinances at either 11:30pm or 11pm, so that's typical ending time regardless.) Doors, I assume that's venue-specific... & a whole other stupid story re: the Val-Air.... don't even GET me started, but anyway. I wish I were hitting those MN shows. Are you going to both? edited to add, re: Nick again:I think the V-A crowd was just the WRONG sort for his material & nothing to do with that night's specific performance (fortunately OR unfortunately). They wanted loud noise, & that's not Nick's set.
uncool2pillow
It's pretty funny that the crowd wanted such a raucous show, and we did. We were an old bunch. I'm 41 and saw as many people who looked my age or older as those who looked younger. Hardly anyone looked under 30.
leftarmtan
It was a very good show. I'm not sure what people mean when they talk about drunks and hippies at shows. Isn't that part of every rock show? The end of the show was dynamite, but WOW...check out the first Minneapolis setlist. It is outstanding. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the show, but I didn't think it was as good as the last time they played the Val Air....the one where Jeff Tweedy stated, "if it turned out to be a great show, they would need to put an asterik by it"...b/c he received a steroids shot for his ailing voice. I have to say I miss Jay Bennet...the soul ran very deep. I still compare everything to the FIrst Ave shows of 2000.
jimmybru
Any word on a copy of this show? I talked to a nice taper after but haven't heard anything yet. It was a great show and I've been hoping and hoping to see it pop up as an early Christmas present.

uncool2pillow
I figured it went w/o saying that I was checking here... Didn't know about bootsdaily, but will add it to my rotation. Thanks!
choo-choo-charlie
Good enthusiasm, appreciate folks recognizing the great accomplishments of Wilco in 2011. A little bit of basic proofreading would've done some good things for that review, though.
